Has anyone had their curly hair relaxed? Just wondering because I think I would really like to but would love some feedback please.

Re: hair
Friend of mine did a few times and she has very curly thin hair (and kinda ridges at her roots). She had it done in a salon and they used Rusk relaxer.
I actually had it done once too but I just really have waves in crazy spots but I didn't like it because I still needed to blow dry my hair straight after shampooing. i just thought I would have pin straight hair right out of the shower.

Re: hair
thats what i want, it doesnt have to be pin striaght but I use a hot iron everyday and evn though it is ceramic, I feel like I get a haircut all the time because of all the damage I have done, do you think I should do it?

I did an at-home thing. It is by Ogilvie.. the name is Ogilvie DeFrizzer - Frizz Taming Treatment . My hair was still curly but is was bigger looser curls... much easier to blowdry straight but can still wear it curly.
I found this description online. 'For those who want smooth, but not necessarily straight hair, Ogilvie has introduced its DeFrizzer. The two-step step incudes Tame the no-ammonia lotion to loosen the curls and the neutralizer to lock in the results. It is designed to work for up to 10 weeks. Gloves and a comb are included. It retails for $10 at drug and grocery stores.'

Re: hair
I did the Rusk Relaxer last month and I love it. My hair without blowdrying dries 90% straight with a lot less frizzies and if I blow it out then I no longer need the flat iron.

Julz -- did that damage your hair at all?
My mom relaxed my hair once when I was in grade school and it fried my hair.

Re: hair
It was like $10. It didn't damage my hair. it is very gentle... I think thats why it is called a defrizzer and not relaxer. I have very thinck strong hair though!

Wow really?! How curly is your hair - like Nicole Kidman curly or Kerri Russell curly or just wavy?
My hair is pretty thick and strong too so maybe it will work for me!
