HAIR $$$
Just out of curiosity, what is everyone spending to get their hair done? I'm just trying to figure out what the average is.

Hopefully nothing! My FMIL does my hair. She going to try and do it for me for the wedding, if she's not sobbing too much.

Re: HAIR $$$
Okay, so what V&S really wants to know is if you found someone who could do your hair exactly how you envision it on your wedding day (which is a creative, intricate style) and her prices were out of control would you spend the $$$$ anyway? Or would you abandon the dreamy hairstyle and go for a simpler style that other stylists would be able to do? Undoubtedly $400.00 is ridiculous amount of money but if you are going to be upset with any other hair style. Would you do it? Keep in mind V&S is very emotional about her hair!By the way V&S is my best friend and I am her MOH that is how I know the situation.

Re: HAIR $$$
She has to ask herself how important the $400 is and if it could be better spent somewhere else. We all splurged on things that we 'had to have' on our wedding day. Some things are just more important than others and since you only do it one you better do it right. (she will see her hair in all the pics
)

I have one more peson I'm going to for a trial, hopefully this will be the one. As long as she has my date still open. The price will also be much lower.Evenedan is right about the way I am about my hair, it's one feature about me that I like.

Re: HAIR $$$
If you hair is that important, and I agree it definitely is, and only 1 person could do the style, go for it !!!It is a lot of money, but if you can swing it, do it, so you can never look back and regret.

Re: HAIR $$$
I have but this is the last one I'm checking out, the fee for hair trials is no joke. I could have paid for the actual day already.

Re: HAIR $$$
I wonder if it's city prices because that's where I went and was quoted that high price.

Re: HAIR $$$
City prices IMO are definitely higher, salons in NYC are always high, but I think they also get these high-quality hairstylists, and pay them very well.

Re: HAIR $$$
Even it the money seems high - think about it - your hair is going to be in EVERY photo. Photos are what you'll have long after everything else is gone. If you really, really love this hairstyle and no one else can duplicate it for less, I say go for it!! I say spurlge - spend the $$$.

Re: HAIR $$$
I don't think $400 is frivolous or out of the balllpark- you killed yourself with finding the right photog, videographer, dress- how long did you spend looking for that? You want to get your look right. I could sleep at night about this whole hair cost thing because I am saving money on the wedding shoes. Few people will really see those and I found great white pumps at Payless. I say, like Jenn, you like em- go with em!
