HAIR

Ok so I was told that when you have heavy long hair like me, and are planning to wear it down, it CAN NOT be done with a curling iron for the day of. I was told this numerous times.. You have to have it set in hot rollers. Has anyone else heard this? Has anyone had there hair set in rollers vs. curling iron?

I think its true because my trial hair fell out a few hours later. Does anyone know who uses hot rollers? Do you think I can just request it with M*I*A ? If my hair falls out on my wedding day I am going to go buck wild ANDDDD i do not want to pay someone to come back and touch up.. annoying and $$$$.

I know for myself, curling iron NEVER works.... Flat Iron, yes, curling, no...

I have very long hair and I know that curls never stay...however...there is this gal I went to and she was the only one who could get the curls to stay all night. FM me if you want her info.

Hm. I think it depends. I have super long hair and my hair absolutely holds a curl when I use a curling iron. I also have naturally thick/wavy hair. I think it depends on the make of your hair to be honest.

oh no your hair looked amazing after the trial!!! i cant believe it fell out

I have the same problem though; curling irons do not work. I never tried rollers though. It seems a lot of weddings I have been to the curls dont last when its half up (or all down)...esp if its summertime and humid out.
im sure you can ask a hair person to use curlers and then go for another trial.

Ideally i would like my hair half up but going to other weddings and looking at pics i would be miserable if hair didnt last so im going for an updo.

Re: HAIR

my sister has CRAZY heavy hair, and she had her hair done with a curling iron. It was by Hair Sculpting by Renee.

First she set it with big rollers, and then after did all the iron curling.

Go to Renee's website:

www.hairsculptingbyrenee.com

click on photos, then page 3, to display the tab for page 4. The first and last picture on page 4 is my sister.

Truth be told, the curls were a little looser by the end of the night...but all and all it held. and her hair is SOOOOO thick and heavy.

hey love!! it depends on the texture and thickness of your hair... and it also depends on the hair stylist and what products they use. For long term wear it is said that hot rollers/curlers will stay much longer than a curling iron will. Rollers also give you that soft natural look. I have had my hair curled with an iron and it did stay all day and night however that was with tons of hairspray LoL..

From what i hear if you do not wash your hair the day of the curls hold better. My hair is very soft and i don't have alot of hair so it depends - my hair dresser usually uses a curling iron and uses different sizes so the curls hold. She does them tighter so they will loosen up later on with tons of professional hair spray of course!! I guess it depends on weather too. I will be getting married in the fall and had my hair in curls for my engagement party it held up until the next day!!!

and I'm totally opposite! my curls stay better on freshly washed hair because it's too soft then and they fall, but yes I have hear that about the rollers too Jam

I recently had Mya do my hair for a bridal party I was in and all the curls stayed in (My hair is naturally wavy). And for the girls wohad much finer hair, by the end of the night, I would stay about 90% of their curls were still in.

But generally I have heard rollers work a lot better.

Re: HAIR

yessss def rollers for heavy hair. when your hair is damp and set in rollers it will hold the curl a lot longer than the heat from a curling iron. when your hair goes from damp to dry in the same position (the curl) it's set and you're good to go. when you're using the curling iron your just adding heat to dry hair (obviously) and it's no as effective and long- lasting.

but different things work for different textures. you'll be a hot a$$ no matter what
