I called Elena this weekend to see if she was availble for my make-up/hair, she was already booked. I called Pauline and she is available!!!Yeah :) The question is have any of you used her? I did a search to read posts, but I thought w/ so many new members, I could get a new perspective.Thanks for your help. Continued success to all...

What's your date? I'm using Pauline, but I've yet to meet her. My wedding is also is August, and I'm not going to meet her for the trial until July. I'm nervous about that, but everyone that has used her has really liked her.

DO NOT USE ELENA!!!!!!! She was hired to do my daughters hair and make up. Arrived at her hotel room in the sluttiest looking outfit I've ever seen and with black stocking that were totally ripped. And...she was going to attent the wedding like that?? After 3 hours of trying to do my daughters hair and I went totally nuts and had to leave the room. She was getting married in 2 hours and looked like a bird tried to nest in her hair. The photographer finally came to the rescue and made Elena leave the room while she talked to my daughter. Her hair ended up 'ok'. She then attended the wedding where she did nothing but fix her veil every now and then and all this aggrevation for $275 which she asked for while I was watching my daughter and son in law dance their first dance. I did everything to keep from decking her at this black tie affair. I warn every bride DO NOT USE HER!!!!

I know at least two brides that have used Pauline and swear by her. I called her first but she was booked. She recommended Elena who I had a trial with and booked for my wedding.

I posted this earlier but want to again. Your hair and makeup is so important! I went for a trial w/ Elena and found her to be nice but horrible at makeup and hair. My hair also looked like a rat made a home in it. The makeup was clown like and that was after having her do it 3 times! I will not be using her obviously. She also took over 3 hours!! I felt the wedding day would be stressful using her. She claims to be able to do up to 10 people for hair/makeup the day of the wedding. Judging by the amt of time she seems to take it doesn't seem possible. I suggest brides look a little further. Check your salons/ makeup counters. They are more up to date on styles and trends. I know many brides like her but if you want to use her do a trial.

Lisa I'm not certain yet. I'm going to try Maximus for my hair and makeup. If it doesn't go well I'll be checking out some makeup counters- probably bobby brown or trish mcevoy

When I first joined this board which was in February, all the brides then we're saying great things about her. That's how I found her. You'll definitely have to go back to Jan.-Feb. of last year.

I went to trial with Elena and hated that. If your trial does not go well with Maximus - let me know, I can give you Laura's information. I posted a message about this too awhile back, if you wanted to do a search.
