Hair and Makeup for BMs?

I have just started looking into hair and makeup and, as expected, it is a bit pricey, and since my wedding is all the way in Setauket, a lot of the companies are asking for 5 people minimum My question is whether or not I am expected to pay for my bridesmaids hair and makeup or are they expected to pay? Or do I offer them the option of getting it done and let them know what the price is? I am not sure what is customary or not?

I'm not paying for my BM, but I'm also not making them have hair and makeup done. Whatever they wanna do. I'm telling them where i'm going and whoever wants to come can, but it's completely up to them.

I paid for most of my girls hair already (i want to be paid up on all the vendors before the wedding) - and FH and I are still kicking it around if we are going to have the girls reimburse (they dont know that its all being paid yet) so we have the $$ for tips that day, or if its just part of a wedding gift.. its $$$$$ tho...

I'm torn about this too. Part of me would love to pay for all of them for their hair and makeup but it will be so costly (almost 200 per girl = 800 plus tips!).

I can't afford to pay for their hair and m/u so they have the option of using the girl I booked (2 of them already mentioned they'd liked to use her) or doing their own hair and makeup.

I know 2 out of 3 of my girl will be getting their hair done. As far as makeup they might do it themselves. They cant afford both and I cant afford to pay for it as well.
