Yes I will be using Lauren from Claudine's on Crossbay Blvd. in Howard Beach for my hair, and the make up artist that works there is Hillary. I used both for a friend of mines wedding (I was in the bridal party). I loved everything. My make up stayed all night, and it didn't look like I had a mask on, and didn't feel all ucky either (I don't usual wear a lot of make up) very natural.

My friend goes to Georgios on Continental in Forest Hills and loves it there...

I think there is also a Giorgio's on Ditmars Blvd. in Astoria which is supposed to be good.

Actually there is a Giorgio's on Steinway Street in Astoria. I get my hair cut there and I have gotten a couple updo's done there as well. Unfortunately, the girl I really liked there left and so I am looking for new places. The last two times I got my hair cut there I wasn't 100% happy.

I heard Christy & Co in Bayside has excellent make-up and Hair stylists.

I also heard that Christy and Co. are realy good, There is a salon called Nubest that has a very good reputation. I need someone who will come to my house the day of my wedding.

It's me again...I have gotten my hair done at Christy's when I was in a wedding party. The bride did also. They did a great job on the bride's hair and makeup. Everyone loved my hair but the woman did not listen to what I asked for so I was disappointed esp. b/c you are paying $75+ just for hair. I have a couple friends who go there regularly and love the place.

I am looking more in Astoria, Ozone Park and Howard Beach. Bayside is out of the way for me.

I have also heard some good things about Anna for up do's in Explosions also on Crossbay Blvd. in Howard Beach. The make ap artist there is also very good. I don't remember her name but I think there is only one there.
Good Luck!

Thanks Nicole. I was looking for some feedback on Explosion.

My mom gets her hair done there and I use to get my hair done by the same person (years and years ago) but he does not do hair for weddings. I was looking for more info on otehr people in the salon.

I dont know where I am getting my make up and hair done yet. But I do go to Explosion to get my hair cut and blown straight, Liz does my hair and she is really nice and does a good job.

I was going to probably get a trial done there with Liz and the make up artisit. I dont know anything about the makeup artist. Ive never seen anyone getting done while I was there. I dont wear much make up (usually none)so I dont want it very noticable, so this is a big thing. Anyone know about Explosions in Howard Beach, makeup artist, please post.
