Hair and makeup vendors

How did you pick your hair or makeup vendors? I don't want to do tons of trials and spend money just to see what it'll look like. Any good recommendations on who does a good job at a good price?

Victoria Elizabeth Makeup... She's amazing! I found her on LIWeddings. There are pics in my album if you wanna see. She's personable and professional and gave me exactly what I wanted the first time around.

I used Dusti from Fire Monkey Hair design and she was magnificent. She brought Jill along as her assistant (from Jillian Kristine hair) and my hair and all the girls hair looked amazing.

Hair-Jill from Jillian Kristine Salon is a personal friend of mine and I knew I was going to use her. Highly recommend her and yay! Pinkisles!

Make-up - I did a lot of online research and looked through tons of make-up artists' websites, but when I came across Stacy from About Face Artistry's work I knew I HAD to have her do my make-up for my wedding.

I only did one hair & make-up trial and with just Jill & Stacy.

I have a friend who works for MAC so I will probably have her or one of her friends do it. You can go into any MAC and ask who they have that does freelancing that they can recommend...not sure how they compare to 'wedding' makeup artists, but I've always been happy with them

I went with people I know and have used before and am comfortable with. I honestly didn't even compare that many prices because I wanted to just be sure I had people that I am comfortable with who know me well and who I trust.

I'm also using Dustin from Fire Monkey Hair! She is awesome. She actually highlights and cuts my hair.

I'm using Christy Ann for my makeup.
