I'm a low maintenance kind of girl and really hardly ever wear makeup or do my hair. I had two weddings this year and my engagement party - for those I went to Christie's in Bayside. EVERYONE loved my hair and makeup. That's the first pic below.
Then I went to the Pedala sisters for a hair and makeup trial. I left IN LOVE with their work, but my friends and family didn't like it at all. That's the second and third pics below.
Here's what they are saying: the Eparty looked more natural, more like myself (but prettier), more like the Regina they know. The Pedala trial looks TOO done up, TOO dramatic, TOO much, TOO old for me, TOO much makeup, etc.... I don't agree, but in truth, i don't know anything about this kind of stuff. I'm lucky I remember my lip gloss in the morning.
So, honest opinion ladies - what do you think of the two makeup/hair options below?

I think you look great in both!! But, I do think the 3rd picture is more dramatic and you can see that in the pictures..especially in the eyes. So it really depends on what you like and what you want to look like in your wedding pictures. (I do like the hair better in the 3rd picture though).

Tough one.
I think the Pedala makeup photographs really well - but I imagine that it is very dramatic in person?
The first makeup trial looks absolutely beautiful too.
If I were you, and I didn't wear a lot of makeup, I'd stick with the first trial. You want to feel like yourself on your wedding day.
But thats just me. Either way you'll look beautiful! Its just a matter of your personal preference.

i think you look beautiful in both! But you are the bride...so you should look a bit more 'dramatic' than usual! haha...plus you want to make sure your makeup shows up in pics...i think your m/u trial looks beautiful...and still natural! (and i am not one to wear alot myself) Go with what YOU like...

What kind of wedding are you having? I noticed under you avatar you're at CHCC, which leads me to believe it'll be on the formal side. In that case, I think the work the Pedala sisters did is appropriate.

honestly i think you look natural in both. No matter who you do end up using just make sure to let them know you want more of a natural look so definitely give them direction. In the first pic the lighting of the pic isn't that great to know how you would look in the pictures but it is very pretty and natural, i went to christies in bayside for my e-pics but the girl tabitha i used is no longer there. The 2nd pic it does have a nice flawless look to it and fresh. When it comes down to it you should pick what makes you feel best, it is your day and you want to look back loving the way you look. To answer your questions - I'm in a Demetrios gown- getting married early Oct at Crest Hollow. Outdoor ceremony and cocktail hour, indoor reception. Its definitely more on the formal side. And that's definitely something to consider - the Pedala hair/makeup really does photograph very well!
Do you think the Pedala hair is overdone?

another thing to consider is how the make up and hair lasted throughout the day with each person. Did the make up last, how did it look like 5 hours or more after you had it done and how did your curls hold up.

Here's another pic from the hair/makeup at Christies...
And good question about how did everything hold up. My makeup held up better from Pedala. But my curls were out within 4 hours from the Pedala trial. Probably because my hair wasn't set and we were using the trail extensions, but if I choose them I'll just ask her to make sure they're tighter to start off with.
The first one is a little hard to see, I think it's the flash but the picture is a little orangey looking, it's hard to see the make-up

Your first pic. does look more natural but I also think the Pedela sisters did a great job. The makeup is flawless. They both look great but it depends if you're comfortable having more makeup on.

i think it depends on the look youre trying to achieve...some people do want it more overdone while others like it alot more simple...Are you comfortable with that hair? did you feel that maybe it was overdone? go by what you feel not everybody else. I think you look gorgeous in both pics so the day of your wedding you will be a beautiful bride either way

I LOVE your PEDALA trial. I think maybe they think it looks older b/c you are wearing a suit jacket & at the eparty your in a dress? Thats what I think. LOVE the trial and would book them. Remember, it's your wedding & probably the most dressed up / done up you'll ever want to be!!!

I really don't think you look overdone in the pedala pics. Beautiful makeup and it does photograph really well. Do what you are happy with. I am not a fan of heavy makeup for weddings b/c I just think that it is a nightlife kind of look as opposed to a bridal look, but I honestly don't think your makeup looks heavy or overdone. Very appropriate.

If you love Pedala go for it. I think you look amazing! People may just say it's too much because they are not used to you wearing make-up. It is your wedding day you are allowed to look like a Princess!!!

Thanks for your answers. Still prefer the Pedala makeup, but as the previous posters said, it truly is up to you. The Pedala makeup looks pretty natural for wedding makeup.
I don't think the Pedala hair is overdone necessarily, but if you prefer something a bit different, how about having the curls be looser? I like that part where a lock of hair lies over the side of your forehead. I think it softens the look.

I think you look very beautiful in both pictures (you should maybe put that second Christies pic in your original post so people see it up top, it's a much better picture than the first pic).
I agree that you should go with how YOU feel about both looks. Remember also that the people you had your trials with a pros and could probably achieve a less dramatic look (Pedalas) or more dramatic look (Christies) if you ask them.
If you want my opinion, I have to say that I like how you look in your Christie's pic just slightly better - You look 'done' without it being too much. The Pedalas did an awesome job too, and I don't think it's too dramatic and you DO look flawless, but just something seems almost missing - like the colors are all too similar and pale?? I'd go with the Christie's look and just ask for a lighter lipstick.
Also, I love the soft look of your hair in the Pedalas trial as wedding hair - you look beautiful in the Christies pic too, but I personally am a fan of the softer curls for a bride.
