Hair Color Help

I'm trying to get my hair back to its natural color but I want to use something (non-permanent) while it grows out to bridge the gap between my roots and my colored hair. Any ideas? Do those semi-permanent or non-permanent colors work?

My natural color is medium brown, the colored part is light auburn with some highlights.

I like Castings color up... i used this and its a wash(28 shampoos) i thought it was VERY even!

I also used this month Loreal OPEN (thats permanent) and it also was very even..

Of course your best bet for single process is always go to the salon.. or use salon products, but they are hard to get with out a licenece..

Suzanne, I can get salon products. Can you suggest any? I want something to even out the color, but I don't want to do anymore damage with permanent color.
Thanks!

Use Colorance by goldwell.. they are the best... and after you use the color, put the clear colorance on after (that adds shine! )

Demetra, you haven't seen me since I dyed my hair dark brown 3 weeks ago, but I love it and it totally evened out the roots and the other 29 colors I had in it. Plus I'm in love with the color. Marcella is right - dye it dark - or close to your natural color if you can. It won't damage it. Just ask for a conditioning treatment the same day.....

I would dye it dark, but I'm honestly afraid to do it in one step. It might be too drastic for me. But you're right, that's probably the best option.

It would probably be the best thing for you to do.. you have to remember that dye is dye.. regardless of what you put in your hair, whether it be semi or permanent, it's still chemicals.. I'd just go for a regular medium ash brown then.. I don't know what color your hair is, but I do not that from experience, some of these dark browns, come out black.. so go for the medium brown.
