Ok well bc i procrastinated on dying my hair this is my fault lol and what i get.
So i went yesterday to go back to blonde, when i showed up the girl said 'oh i didnt know you had roots' and yes i did bc i didnt want to dye it red again just bc of the roots bc then it would be harder to go back to blonde, my hair got alot lighter and faded so it was easier to dye. She said that since i have roots that if she does the highlights the top wouldn't be even with the rest of the hair, which is true bc it has happened before, you do see a difference many times with blondes when you look at the roots. So she said she was going going to dye my roots and then pull that color through my hair to make it all one even color and then to come back in 2 weeks to do my highlights. I said yes to just do single process right now thats fine with me and ill come back beginning of may to do my highlights. But here is the thing it was done and my hair is brown i thought it would all be one color but blonde and though its a light brown but not that light either. She said next time she will do the color so i assumed to do it all blonde and then highlights on top. But then when i was leaving she said something that makes me think she has something else in mind, as i was walking out she said 'this is such a pretty color it will look great with blonde highlights over it. Ok i dont want brown hair with blonde highlights on top, i personally dont want the very streaky look, i like blonde hair and then with blonde highlights throughout but to blend together. I had said to her i dont want platinum that was my only thing so i hope that wasnt understood as dont want it too blonde, bc i also did say i do want it blonde throughout my whole hair.
Since i got home yesterday, i realize how much i dont want brown hair right now lol, i know its stupid but i always either have blonde or red, on me its what i prefer, dont take it the wrong way bc not like i think its bad for others just for myself. Also remembered that i am going to vegas next weekend and its stupid but i want blonde hair for it, wouldnt have minded the red but just not brown. I am going to call her tomorrow and just to confirm that my hair will not stay this brown and just put highlights on top i want the whole thing dyed and THEN put highlights bc i think she likes how it would look with brown hair and just some blonde throughout it, its how she has her hair where its just mostly the front blonde.
Now here is my problem, i know i shouldn't do this but should i dye my hair blonde before going to vegas although i just dyed my hair but i would only do the single process right now, i know i shouldn't but i always try to convince myself i can in these situations or should i just deal with it and wait 2 weeks. The other problem is i am not sure if she can do it this week before i leave, and i even thought of going elsewhere to get it done but then it would be real bad if i went to her in 2 weeks for the highlights and she sees i got it dyed all blonde elsewhere, i feel bad bc she knows my mom so this is why it puts me in an awkward position otherwise i wouldnt even worry. I also think that if i ask to get it dyed again this week she'll say its too soon. Another reason i want to dye it blonde now is bc i know from past experiences the first time you go back to blonde it wont necessarily come out how you want and need to do it a 2nd time, if i wait to dye it then i wont have time before the wedding to do it a 2nd time and i dont want to have a color i dont like for my own wedding
so what would you do? i know its not that big of a deal but i keep thinking about it
****UPDATED**** ok i called her and told her i am just afraid with my hair that i wont get the blonde i want just from doing it one time and if i can get it done now and then ill do it again closer to the wedding. I feel bad bc my mom called and talked first and i said ill talk to her to say what i want to say but sometimes my mom just comes out and says things how she shouldn't she said you know she wanted blonde i took the phone away from her and said no the problem is that i think i need it done twice. SO i am going tuesday to get highlights, why do i worry about stupid things lol

I agree with Jess and don't do anything to your hair. I do the same thing and get full head of highlights and it looks more blonde and not streaky at all. Stick with the brown for vegas, you don't want to ruin your hair. It will lighten anyway.
lol well this is what i get for procrastinating. The only thing i can think of is maybe JUST to get a glaze which lightens your hair, ill ask about that and see if that is safe and wont ruin my hair
Yeah, I'm surprised you proscrastinated, too...ha. As far as I know, the glaze is good for your hair, so that shouldn't hurt it.
its been hard to get an appt, she works in the city at a place that gets booked and with having alot to do on weekends it was hard to find the right time. I wanted to do it the first weekend in april but i broke my foot then so i couldn't even go when i wanted to. I should've started in march now that i think about it but eh cant dwell on that now lol
its real stupid and i know but i havent had brown hair since i was probably 14 and the only other time was in situations like this where i went from red to blonde and it turned out brown first. So im not used to it and dont feel like myself hahaha but ill just leave it alone now and wait until the first weekend in may when i go back.
That's the thing with some of these really good places...they get booked up and it's so hard to get an appointment. That's true...you were dealing with you foot too.
Aw, it's not stupid, at all. You like your hair a certain way. Your hair makes such a big difference with how you feel about the way you look. I'm sure it looks great! That's the thing...you're just not used to it. It won't be for too long either.

Hey! I am totally for going in and getting fixed right away. I am like you...if I dont like how it looks, I need it fixed right away. I wouldnt do a box die tho....but see if you can get in to see her asap and tell her you want a singe process blond.
Also what shade of brown is your hair. If it is a light light brown, it will not look too stripey when it is highlighted. But if it is a medium brown it will look stripey. Not chunky but definitely alittle stripey and that is not what you want....so I'd say you need to do single process blond right away. Then in a few weeks add blond for the extra umph.
yeah trust me i wont do a box dye especially not with blonde. I would definitely ask her to do it but also not sure of her availability so thats why i was thinking of someone else doing it this week but i would feel horrible. She was so very nice and i dont want someone to get the wrong idea.
oh its brown, does not resemble any type of blonde not even dirty blonde. When fh picked me up he was like 'did you even color your hair' and then he looked and noticed it wasnt red anymore but more brown, with the red though it had faded alot so was close to a brown so thats why when he first saw me especially out in the daytime as i was getting into his car he didnt see much of a difference. When i got in the car i showed him how there was no hint of red at all and all one color.
Its true, i know alot of ppl who get their hair done and say WOW look im blonde now and i think it looks brown with blonde highlights to me not all blonde. Unless you do every strand of hair with highlights then it wont get that effect. I am just going to call her and explain and see what she suggests, i am going to say i prefer to get a single process done first and then highlights on top of that not on top of this. If she says to come in sooner for the single process ill do that if not just wait for 2 weeks. I also want to warn her bc doing a single process first and THEN highlights on top of that is going to take even longer to do so have to make sure she has the time that day to do it and to be prepared, i feel bad being a PITA with her but ill make sure to just say it nicely and mention not wanting any brown. If she knows that i am going to get all that done in one day she might even be the one to suggest i do it 2 separate times

i know i really shouldn't mess with it. I guess the only reason i am thinking about it which i should've mentioned in the first place lol is that it wasnt dyed my hair. I think a toner was used and it was on only for 15 minutes. At first it was JUST on my roots and then then the last minutes was put throughout my whole hair. So the reason i am considering it is bc it wasnt really dyed. But still you never know so yeah i will ask her.
Awwww i am so sorry this happened to me YEARS ago but when it happened i had bleached my own hair, i was like 14 or 15 years old lol i dont know what i was thinking. Then i decided to go back to darker hair, and i dyed it myself too at home and it came out brown and i didnt want it that color so same week i dyed it myself a red color. Now it was real bad bc my hair was bleached so that alone messed it up and then dying it twice in the same week right after bleach didnt help at all. My hair was fried and just looked horrible. I ended up just cutting it all off and letting it grow out after for healthy hair to grow in. Have you considered doing that?

Aw, hang in there...as long as it's not anything really serious.
Oh, I'm sure that must aggravate it. Unfortunately it will take time for it to heal and there's not much you can do about your commute. Try and wear really comfortable shoes...something that will support your ankle a little more so you don't have to worry so much about it going out on you.

what about posh's hair cut? i have a VERY round face lol so i worry about the same thing when ive cut it short, usually ill do the short cut that comes right on your face, but i am considering posh's hair cut after the wedding, i love it and its very stylish. Alot of it comes on your face, and i am sure your face is not as round as you think and you wont look bad lol. And if you look the spikey look the posh cut might go well. And trust me when i say my face is ALOT rounder than yours, you probably wont have anything to worry about and will look beautiful no matter what
Ugh i know its horrible, ive dyed my hair so much its ridiculous, i do think about it at times and hate how much damage ive probably done to my hair or well i should say how much damage ive definitely done. Maybe i am stupid that i have this whole thing about me with brown hair, why does it always have to be blonde or red or something that really stands out lol. Its stupid but i guess bc of the fact that i didnt lose all the weight i wanted to by now, and i think about going to vegas and all the girls with perfect bodies im feeling kinda blah about myself, i think i can get into a bikini bc my waist is ok and i have lost some of the weight i put on but feel my stomach can still use a little bit of work.

Re: hair color question
First off I have to say you are not overreacting at all. This is your hair sweetie!!
I'd go in there with pictures of what you want, and more importantly what you DON'T want. Tell her that you just have a vision of what you want for the wedding, and you've had an uneasy feeling about your hair and how there might have been some miscommunication. If you want, put the blame on yourself. Tell her you trust her opinion, but now that you think about it, your not sure you explained yourself properly and you wanted to make sure you were both on the same page. Believe me, a hairdresser ALWAYS wants her client to be happy and would rather you be as specific as possible with what you want. Especially with working with your mom, she wants to hear comments from your mom after your wedding that her daughter LOVED her hair, ya know? I don't think she'll think your rude by being specific, especially since you are a new client to her. If you have pictures of your hair from when your old colorist used to do it, that you really love and would want for the wedding, def bring that in to her..she can see what worked for you in the past, ya know?
Ooh, and I don't think there's anything wrong with going back in for a single process as early as today or tomorrow. You haven't had your hair dyed in a few months, so it shouldn't be weak right now. Plus, if she dyed it brown, its not like it was stripped or bleached so there shouldn't have been much damage done. On top of that, it's normal to do a basecoat and then highlights in one trip, basically going in and dying your hair lighter right now would be the same as doing highlights, its not the greatest thing for your hair, but it's not the worse either.
Def go in and talk to her, it will ease your mind and I'm sure she'd be happy that you were honest with what you want!

thank you very much. Yeah i am just going to call and say what i want and was just making sure we both are on the same page.
But yeah i didnt get it dyed yesterday, it was basically a toner im thinking and was left in just 15 minutes to make my hair all one color. But yeah if i would've gotten it done yesterday it wouldve been dying it and then highlights on top of it so what i would do now is get the same thing i would've done in just one day but do it with a few days apart i guess. Ill see what she says.

Aww, don't feel that way...I think you're probably being too hard on yourself. And, I don't think you're being ridiculous about your hair. You want it to look a certain way, a way that you are comfortable with for your wedding. And, I didn't realized from your original post that it was only a toner. If you really, really want it blonde for Vegas, call her and talk to her and see if she thinks you can do it.

Re: hair color question
I completely understand what you're going through,,,I dyed my hair drastically right after I got engaged over a year ago. Anyway I went from a really gorgeous blonde color to dark brown. I stuck with it but hated it, so I've been trying to get it back to the blonde color ever since and its STILL not there. Honestly the girl who did my hair said the same thing, oh this is a really pretty color on you blah...I hated it. She didn't want to put highlights in it until I insisted!
Anyway, what I'm trying to say is you have to be firm and tell her what you want! It's your wedding after all, its totally ok to go back for a 'fix' this week and get what you want for Vegas. Plus, you want to get it right for the wedding so its going to take more than once for the highlights to look the way you want it to for your wedding. As your date twin =) I know I'm going in 2x, once for a touch up & cut and once more for a full head of highlights. I wouldn't wait, it takes more than once to get the blonde you want (you said it yourself and you know your hair best) and you want to be sure its the way you want it to be for the wedding. So I would make an appt asap, get it done now and when you get back get it done again.

ahhh its so true, i mean thats why i went now so i can get highlights done twice before the wedding. I know she was trying to help me by saying my highlights will grow out by then but yeah i think i will need to get it done twice to get it right. When she suggest this i said yeah just do the single process but i honestly thought it would be blonde after the single process. I am gonna talk to my mom when she gets home, to ask her to do my hair this week, i think the one day she can is tomorrow so have to see if i even can work that out or come up with something else to do. But yeah i dont think the highlights once will do the trick. My old hairdresser also used to do the toner first before the highlights to lighten up my hair and it would seriously lighten it up alot and would be a blonde color so at least to do that now
