While I fully realize that now is not the time to get adventurous, especially after what my sister pulled a few weeks back, my hair is a disgusting rat trap and I'm thinking of doing a clear glaze just to seal the cuticle and make it look shiny and healthy again.
Has anyone done this before, and does it really make a difference?
I was also thinking of doing a super dark brown glaze, which is my natural color anyways, but the tips of my hair naturally highlight copper, so I don't know if it's kind of cool to have two tone hair or if I should even it out by doing a dark glaze.
Any input would be appreciated!

Re: Hair Color/Glaze Question
I always get the glaze done after i get color done, but have also done it after color faded a bit and made a little bit of a difference, wont say its a drastic change

Re: Hair Color/Glaze Question
I always get a glaze as well since my hair is red and only coloring the roots makes it look REALLY funny when the rest has faded.
I don't notice it looking shinier or healthier... just evening out the faded color to match my roots... my colorist says it's not bad for your hair and is 'actually good for it' though I'm not sure it really is.
Sorry I'm not really much help... I tried lol.
ETA: I'd say go for it anyway!! That way you'll know. It's definitely not going to make a huge difference I don't think... and I don't think you'll be unhappy about it. So why not?

yes I live by them! I am due but I am waiting another month to do it, your hair just ends up looking sooo healthy and shiny and soft (no frizz) do it!

Re: Hair Color/Glaze Question
I ALWAYS get a glaze after I get my hair highlighted or touched up. It really DOES make it more shiny and smooth, and enhances the color..... I love it! You should give it a try! My stylist uses the Redken glaze and then a Chemsitry shot.

Re: Hair Color/Glaze Question
Try washing your hair with a clarifying shampoo once a week. It will do wonders to your hair! Also, change up the shampoos and conditioners you use everytime you run out. It keeps your hair healthier and prevents build up.

Re: Hair Color/Glaze Question
I think I'm going to do it, at my next haircut. I'll probably just do clear because I'm a wuss lol. I'm easily chopping off 4 inches from this nest, so hopefully this helps.
Thanks girls!

Re: Hair Color/Glaze Question
You def need a glaze after color... I am not sure what your sis did but the glaze seals the color.. its better to do it right after you get color done.. it probably wont help you as much if you already colored your hair but it will bring the shine back ...
I just got my hair done (I am experimenting but I totally trust my colorist - Bumble and Bumble in the city) and she doesnt even let me get off the chair until she puits a glaze (she uses 3 different glazes on my roots, middle and ends) and then a treatement after. Their products are also very good to bring back shine and they have awesome color support shampoo too..
