Hair Crisis POLL HELP!!!!

Im trying to figure out my hair...this is a major dilemma to me, because I dont want to compromise and I know I HAVE TO!!!

My veil is mantilla...with a ton of work. My headpiece is kinda big too. I am not wearing my veil after first dance. I would love to figure a hair style so that my veil could go as close to the top of my head as possible. I have naturally curly hair, but dont want to be stuck with barrel curls. HP was 250, so mom will break me if i dont use it. I cant have any pieces in the front hanging, they will go right behind my ears. I am a PITA. FYI Ceremony is 3 and cocktail HR is 7

Are you planning to wear your veil like a traditional mantilla veil is worn? If so, it would lay right across the top of your head so you wouldn't really see the headpiece until after you take the veil off.

I like it better all up. Your veil stands out more. But with the headpiece alone I like it half up half down. Sorry i guess I am not much help

THATS how i want to do it, but everyone is telling me i need height on my hair bc fh is 1.5 FEET taller than me...also, would that restrict the way i would wear my hair? the veil is made for the dres...never thought i would go mantilla..

Any height you have on your hair is not going to make up a 1 1/2 foot height difference so don't worry about it. If you want to wear it the traditional way then do it. I'm wearing a traditional lace mantilla as well. Pretty much the same as this:

Definitely half up/half down.

Here's an '06 bride with a bigger headpiece and half up/half down hair...

I'm not, no. I'm wearing my hair in a low bun in the back. So right now I'm looking for a really pretty comb for the bun (or chignon-whatever you call it). My veil is going to be cathedral length so it will come off right after the ceremony.

i saw - I just can't picture it with the headpiece so you aren't going to wear the mantilla on top of your head then? you're wearing it in back of your headpiece? sorry if i'm missing something.

okay good. that sounds pretty. I want to wear my hair down; maybe some random hair jewelry pins because I want to take mine off right after the ceremony too.

Love it... BUT, if you plan on wearing the mantilla veil higher up on your head (closer to your forehead), the hair that's kind of piled up in back will cause a bump.. does that even make sense?

lol yea it does so i dont know where to put the veil (in the above pics) bc its also about 13 feet long so its HEAVY!
