FMIL do not have a great relationship and she has been difficult through this entire planning process. Two weeks ago she told me she was only getting her hair done (no makeup) and i said fine - cant force her. Now she emailed saying she wants her hair blown straight with a slight curl. I emailed my hair person to find out if her hair should be wet or dry when she comes and to see if she thinks it will survive the august heat/humidity bc fmil is a frizzball! well the hair person wrote back saying she does not think a blowout will last with her hair ( i sent a photo of fmil to her). i want to write back to fmil telling her that she doesnt think it will hold but she can try it or try an updo (fmil said she didnt want an updo bc she wants to be comfortable) so i also want to give her the option to not have her hair done (or not with my lady - she can go to a local salon). FH refuses to allow me to not let her get her hair done but i cant in good conscious let her throw away $55 on a blowout that wont last through pictures!!! wwyd???

This is a sticky situation....... you don't want to offend anyone -- but doesn't your FMIL realize you have enough on your plate & you just can't worry about another person's hair (of all things). I honestly think she should deal with this on her own and not make it your responsibility to worry about her hair. I love my FMIL to peices, but I would ask her to get her hair done elsewhere.
Maybe you can tell her your hair person is booked to the max and can't squeeze in any more people. This way you avoid hurting her feelings by telling her her frizzball hair won't last all day. HTH!

Re: hair help - fmil
the problem with letting her get it done and look terrible is that she will 100000000% blame me and let everyone know it was MY fault bc I picked the hair person etc

yeah i don't agree with that. i would just tell her that your hair person is booked to the max and she needs to go to her local salon. this way she gets her hair done how she wants and if it comes out crappy she can't blame you.
why do people have to drive us crazy!!!!!!!

sounds like no matter what you do -- your not going to make this woman happy. it sucks, but just try not to let it get to you. not everything is in your control....
sorry you are dealing with this sweetie! maybe ask FH to step in. it's his mother!

Honestly, I don't have positive feelings towards my fmil(to put it nicely) and I could care less if her hair looks horrible. She's only embarassing herself lol

hahah that is a great way to put it!!!! well i just wrote back saying that the hair person is not confident she can do a blowout that will last but if you would like her to try it will cost this much and you need to come with your hair wet...
