Hair/Makeup quotes are driving me insane...

Between this and the limos, I'm not sure which one is more of a rip-off

So if anyone is using people that are costing them under $150 for BOTH, please please FM me... I want to find esp cheap makeup bc I dont wear any on a daily basis so it's more of a waste to me, but guess I have to have it

would you go to a salon, to get it for $75 each for someone to come to you is going to be a little harder. I am sure there are some around that price, i know ive seen girls post it before.

But for example ive had make up done in a salon, even in Massapequa, LI and it cost me $75 in the salon.

I am having such a hard time with this too. I just can't justify spending $300 and more for hair and makeup. I think I am going to try some salons, usually they are cheaper.

I was going to suggest a salon also....what about any friends who are intereste din makeup/hair? Or what about contacting a beauty school and seeing if any of the students would be interested in doing it to build their portfolio?

we need to get ready super early in the morn... so really, our best bet is thave someone come to us in the hotel (i had contacted a salon by me and they wanted DOUBLE bc it was early morn )

got ya...my cousiins wedding started at 10am so we were at the hair salon at 430am. Though it was not as convenient as having someone come it worked out and was MUCH cheaper for all of us...but i def understand what you are saying!

yes, my feelings exactly... its one part of my budget that i feel that has suchhh a jacked up price that i just WONT do it for the mere fact that these people are taking advantage of your situation IMO

ahhh yeah salons do charge extra to open that early.

What about a mac make up artist or bobby brown make up artist. I know there are some make up artists/hair stylists around that range that will come to you, maybe somebody will post bc i know ive seen girls on here posting prices that were similar

Yup, I'm stuck in that boat with $150 for each and a three girl minimum and if my older preggo sister cant make it, it looks like I'm paying double for myself!

Good luck finding someone inexpensive!

i will say that even if youre not a bride the prices are similar. Like i mentioned above, i paid $75 for make up in a salon and i wasnt a bride, not even a bm, i was just attending a wedding. I got my make up and hair done bc dh was in the bp, and i was in LI with 3 hours to kill lol so thats why i did it. So i imagine they will charge a little bit more to travel to you. Its funny bc my mom had to go to a clients house today and she told me how much it costs for her to do that and i was shocked by how much more it is but i guess since it is saturday, out of her way and spending her own money to get there, well not alot of money to get there but for whatever reasons always come out to more for them to travel to you. Jacqueline Nicole isn't that bad, its $125 for make up for the bride from what i heard and she does amazing work but not sure if you want to go higher than $75. What about asking the make up artist at a salon to come to you, maybe she'll do it for less. I had someone do my make up at Lumara in massapequa and LOVED how it came out she did a great job. If she doesnt have to travel far either might not charge more

ugh wow... i mean i def have enough girls that want hair n makeup done so you think they'd be a little more lenient LOL i mean seriously, 8 for hair and 6 for makeup... i think that a good amt of money that will be flowing into your pocket its not like the economy is bad or anything...

you moved to LI right? are you by massapequa, if so try Lea at Lumara. She did my make up and was great and Erika did my hair too. I love how they also did my hair, usually when i say curly ppl mess it up and do it too curly but she did big loose curls exactly how i wanted.

definitely try them out, i mean i dont know if she will do it but hey you never know. I know alot of make up artists at salons travel to you, see what she can do for you and if you are guaranteeing a lot of girls i would say if she can cut you a deal

I was at Cactus Salon in Commack the other day for laser h.r. and I picked up a brochure, there are A LOT of LI locations....according to the brochure it says

Make up application : $55 & up
Bridal Make up : $75 & up
Airbrush : $85 & up

Then it says to call for (631) 543- 4591 off location pricing as it varies. Here is the website cactussalon.com

I feel the same. I am paying 125 for both hair & makeup the day of my wedding. The makeup artist & hairstylist wil be coming to my home in Brooklyn.

gina i am in the same boat! i hate that everything is SO ******** expensive! its disgusting how much they charge to do your hair and put some make-up on.
