Hair & Makeup Recommendations

Can anyone recommend a hair and/or makeup person who is affordable? I don't live in NY so it's hard for me to know where to go. I keep seeing prices of over $100 for each and some of the ones I'm interested in require a minimum number of people. I feel like I can't expect my BP to pay close to $200 for hair & makeup on top of dresses and hotels (most of them aren't from LI either). Help please!!

Hi, you are the day after me! Honestly, I too found it hard to find someone for less than $100 for each. I was looking and looking and I really wanted airbrush makeup for a few reasons and when I started looking and making calls in late January, a LOT of the more reasonable vendors were already booked, or wouldn't travel to Manhattan (where I live), or didn't get back to me.

I finally made an appt. with Mia of BridalLounge and had my trial. I loved it! She is $300 for hair AND makeup on the day of, or just $150 for either. THat is for the bride. For the bridesmaids or moms etc, she is $85 for makeup. Not bad for great quality work.

Other makeup people that are reasonable are Oksana and Jenn the Hair Genie - they might be less than $85 for each BM (around $100 for the bride though).

Jacqueline Nicole of Pretty Me is like $165 or so for the bride's makeup and I believe $100 or less for each BM.

Just check out websites, call them, etc. You can definitely find makeup for the brides for LESS than $100 and probably less than $80.
