So at my sisters suggestion I just called the salon near my parents house that we used to go to before they all got married and i moved back to queens to see if the girl that did our hair is still there. WELL she IS - I don't know why I thought she had left but the best part is I spoke to her, and she's going to do my hair and it's a total tradition - she did all of our hair for all 3 of my sisters weddings!!! I'm SO excited - I haven't seen her in years AND she's right down the block from my mom's so it's perfect and I won't be spending $200 on hair now (no offense to mia, she's awesome)!!! I'm SO SO happy - I'm going to pop in on her in a few weeks!!!
So with her I will do multiple trials til i get it right!!

so hopefully these post... this was from my trial last week. I think the makeup is okay - i'm having a day wedding so i didn't want super dramatic. the lips were really a dark nude though they look orange in the pic... I don't think i like the hair. I took it half down in the last pic to see what it would look like. If they don't all post they are in my album. I kind of hate my face - it looks so long! so i don't know what hairstyle will look good. i wanted curls but i look like an overgrown ugly little girl... oh my hair will be longer for the wedding... i'm growing it out.
HONEST opinions/suggestions? I have another makeup trial but I think hair will be more of the issue for me.
I think the make-up looks beautiful and very natural. If you dont like the color of your lipstick, ask them to lighten it a bit. Maybe use more of a pinker nude than a coral nude.

I felt the same way when I did my hair trial. If you normally wear your hair down (like I do) than you are probably going to have a hard time coming out of your comfort zone. I had the same problem.... I felt my hair up made my face look very long and I wasn't comfortable with it. You need to do something that is a little different for your big day BUT that you are also 100% comfortable with. Are you wearing a headpiece?

thanks - I'm glad i'm not crazy. I'm not sure yet on the headpiece; I don't think i want one but if i do decide to wear my hair all down i might. i know i wanted a mantilla veil but not if my hair is up like the pics.
did you decide how to wear your hair yet?

No, I'm going through the same thing. I normally wear my hair down or in a pony tail. Pony tail is out for the wedding. So i've been going back and forth with all down or half up/half down. I bought a tiera and a veil. I'm going to do another hair trial with both and figure something out. I don't know about you but when I don't feel comfortable or confident with myself, you can see it in pictures. So i'd rather have my hair be semi normal/average for the day if it means that I'm feeling confident and comfortable with it.

I know exactly what you mean - but if you read my update (I just called) I'm totally happy that my old salon lady is still there - hopefully she'll know what to do
