Hair & Makeup trial that never happend

Hi Everyone,

I was supposed to have had my trial on saturday but when I arrived to the salon in the city I was told that the person who was supposed to do my trial did not come in. I was in complete shock!
I had confirmed with her that I was coming. I had cleared my day to be there. Got up early and everything! When I checked my emails, I saw she had sent me a message the day before asking me if I was still coming. I was like, are you kidding me? I had told her I was coming like 2 days prior to the trial. I was busy all day Friday & didn't check any of my emails. I think it was an excuse for her not to come in because the weather was nasty.

So, I emailed her on how upset I was and she responded by apologizing and saying she will come to my house. The only thing is that she wants to still charge me to come to my house. I think she should do it for free. What do guys think I should do?

How set are you on this person. If it were me I would get someone new.

You confirmed with her that you were coming and she just didn't show up.

And she has the nerge to charge you extra to come to your house. no way.

No need to stress yourself out about whether she will actually show for the wedding

I think she should've called to confirm if you were coming or not (even though it sounds like you were already confirmed ) instead of emailing. And since you didn't respond to her email the day before, she definitely should've picked up the phone as a professional if she was debating not going into work.

Meh, unless she's super amazing and you know that for sure, I would just move on. It's good that she apologized and even though it seems like a misunderstanding/miscommunication, it still was kinda lazy/irresponsible of her to not show when you had confirmed with her 2 days earlier.

ITA with this

I only found this stylist searching through yahoo. I read good reviews about her but I don't think anyone on LIW has used her. I tried looking for reviews but nothing came up. I have other stylists that have contacted me back with prices. I might just try one of them out.

i think it is time to move on! you are a paying customer and you deserve the courtesy and respect of a call to cancel!
imp if she were to offer you a free trial or some other way to make up for it that is one thing...but to offer to go to your house and charge you for the trip it is totally not worth it
not a vendor i would want to worry about on my wedding day!
