I just got something similar to these in Claire's the other day, really inexpensive....I LOVE the way these twist into your hair. Makes me feel like they won't slide out of place. I think it's a good design.

i've had these in my hair before...they stayed pretty well. i wasn't shaking my head around like crazy or anything though : ) they also sell similar ones that you clasp into your hair (like tiny buttons)...sorry if im explaining that really bad.

i went to smithaven mall and bought a comb from a kiosk, but then i changed my mind and bought this hair pin:

Got mine from ebay for 10 bucks!! I really wanted the Orchid hair sticks from Thomas Knoell but they were $500!!!!!

In the end, I'm glad I didn't spend all that money on them. These are mine.
