Hair question for girls with curls

I have long, curly hair. For the wedding, I plan on wearing a headband and have my hair up off my shoulders in a loose, curly updo.

I liked the way Jennifer (Fairytale) did my hair at my trial. I had the trial one evening after wearing my hair down and curly all day. She just pulled my hair back and pinned it up behind the headpiece, and added a few curls with a curling iron.

The girl who usually cuts my hair thinks that I should have my hair blown straight, pull it back and up, and then add the curls back.

It seems kind of crazy to straighten my hair just to re-add the curls. Haircutter said it will give a smoother, more polished look.

What are you girls doing?

I have long curly hair too, not sure what I am doing yet. I plan to either have it blown out straight(if there is no humidity that day), or have it blown straight then re-curled with curling iron. My hair looks more polished that way. It all depends on your hair type. My hair is fine and tends to frizz so I don't want to wear it in its natural state. If your hair is thick you can probably just go natural and use a curling iron to finish the style. I think it will look very nice blown out then recurled if you are wearing it up.

if i dont bly dry my hair straight its wavy. if i go on a boat or to the beach, and my hair gets wet, it dries curly.
but it tends to be frizzy.

i agree with drjenn said about if your hair is thick or thin & if it frizzes or not.

wow never even thought about it, my hair is curly but I like the way it loks loosely up but then again that polished look isnt there so you wont get the sleek look, osmething to think about, why dont you try it?

I have long curly hair (cutting it up to my shoulders tmrw) and I will have my hair dressesr blow it out and do an up-do. I have fine hair so I won't have any curls loose or bangs. It will be all up in a sleek do.

I have curls too, I don't plan to blow it out, rather will have it curled right in the places where it looks messy, but otherwise will just use hairspray and other stuff to have it stay. My hair looks best when its been brushed while wet and not brushed again. I almost never blow out my hair.
