I was wondering why a lot of people are going to hair dressers other than thier normal salon were you get your hair cut , dyed ...etc for the wedding? I plan on using my regular hair dresser i just never thought or understand why people go somewhere else? is there a reason??

I think a lot of girls like to go to someone who specializes in up-do's. As opposed to their regular hairdresser, who may not do them all that often.

I don't know about everyone else, but the lady who cuts my hair doesn't do updos or any kind of dos for that matter. She just gives amazing haircuts and blowouts. So I got my hair done once by the woman in my salon who does do that stuff and I was not happy at all. So, I'm going elsewhere....don't know where yet though.

My regular hair dresser will not travel to my house and do all my girls., they would only do it if we all go to the salon and I would love for them to be there in my house to do touch ups and take pics.

for one theres no way im going to a salon the day of, i live in queens and my salon is in the city so i dont want to waste time doing that or do what happened for my e-party and get out of the salon at 4pm when cabs change shifts and NOBODY would take me, until i seriously had to practically cry to one guy that it was my e-party and he felt bad.
Another reason is i want airbrush make up...the guy does ALOT of weddings but he only uses regular make up. So he would most likely come to my house though but doesnt matter now, and i was originally planning to use him.
My hair dresser would also come to my house but i know her very well and i would invite her if anything.

i live in queens - getting married on long island where i grew up and sleeping at my parents house the night before so i will not be going back to queens to get my hair done

well the girl that does my hair ect...is a friend who instead of making me go to her salon colors and cuts my hair from home...
AND she is going to my wedding.
so that is my reason

My salon is right around the corner from my house. They are not opened on Sundays, but if I asked them to , they will go out of their way. I just wanted someone who does hair and makeup together, I would have to go to 2 diff places, one for my hair and one for my makeup. I just want convienence on my day.

My normal person is in Connecticut (because I live here). My mom was my hairdresser when I lived on LI and I will not have my mother all stressed out on my wedding day about my hair. She will be all stressed out on her own.

Not only that but when i go to the salon, i get my hair dyed and cut...a person who works mostly doing this doesnt necessarily mean they're good at wedding type hairs...especially if they work in the city bc most places you do what you specialize in...many are JUST colorist, others stylist.

i have to call my hair dresser but the problem is she works for lemon tree in new hyde park ( she has done my hair since i was like 5) I dont know if she would be able to take that morning off...ill have to see

I had a trial with the lady that cuts my hair. But I didn't like how it turned out. And she doesnt really specialize in updos but she does cut my bangs so well haha
That is pretty much my reason. Oh and she prefers us to come into the salon. I don't want to get my hair done at 8 or 9am so she can keep the salon closed before normal customers come in. I don't get married until 5pm!!!

my hair dresser also isnt open on sundays ... i have to pay double then the normal price if i get my hair done by them ... and i didnt think about the factabout going to 2 diffrent people for hair and maeup ... they do have a makeup person too but i dont know if i want to use them ... hmm i may have to rethink my whole siutation .. i dont know
