hair stylist

Hello ladies,

Do you have any recommendations for a hair salon between Stonybrook - Brookhaven - Jamesport region 'or' a good hair stylist who is willing to travel? My hotel is in Brookhaven and the wedding venue is in Mattituck. Yelp and weddingwire were not helpful so far as every single person has 5 stars on those websites...

I will appreciate all the responses!

I used Angela's hair design. She does travel anywhere but she's out of East Meadow. There may or may not be a travel fee. I used Glam Me Up for make up. She's in Bay shore. I'm not sure how close that is to your area but it might be closer then EM. She travels too. I got ready in Plainview and she came out to me. She does both hair and make up. They were both great to work with. I left reviews on their pages that you can see. I had a large bridal party and we all have really curly hair, different complexions and even with all our concerns they both had all of us looking beautiful and feeling equally beautiful all day long.

I wanted to use Angela's but she wouldn't respond to my emails/questions. And she reached out to me first! Call me crazy but it gives me all kinds of bad vibes when I cannot hear from my potential vendor in 48 hours after I ask a simple 'are you available on my date?' type of question. How am I going to trust these people and expect them to show up at my hotel to provide the services?

Please tell me I am not becoming a bridezilla...

EDIT: Angela had an emergency and she reached out to me as soon as she could. I cannot comment on her services as she is not available on my date however she is a responsible vendor who follows up with emails as soon as she can.

Haha no you're not a brideZilla!!! It's completely understandable. It seems odd. I never had any issues with communication with her. I promise. All I can think of is something is definitely wrong. Another bride on here, who I am friends with contacted her not too long ago (but she didn't have her date available) and she didn't say anything about waiting around for her to respond. Sorry and I hope it works out for you. This is the time for you to have lots of fun not be stressed.

I am using hair by Nikki (found her in wedding wire)
She is located in Suffolk but travels all over. We did a trial and she was great!

I had a feeling. It's not like her not to respond even when unavailable. I'm sorry to hear you have stuff going on. I know exactly what you mean! I used my planning to help me ignore the crap around me lol. hope it all gets better.
