Hair stylist recommendations for curly haired girls?
Hey,
Can anyone recommend a hair stylist that specializes in curly hair? I have natural curls that I want to work with, not against, and I feel like everytime I search for 'curly hair styles' I get the same fabricated 'straightened then curled' look.

I have very curly hair and Jen the Hair Genie really worked with them. Another recommendation would be Nicole D'Angio. Her portfolio is great, but I couldn't get a hold of her until it was too late.

I have curly hair and am still looking. I wasn't crazy about Jen or the others that I went to because everyone wanted to blow my curls out and then the curls fell out after I left the salon.
I'm meeting with Carly at Anthony DeFranco on Saturday and I'll let you know how that works out.. Another bride on here recommended her and from the girl's pic her hair is as curly as mine.
The only one person who does my hair perfectly from Brooklyn wants to charge the girls $250 a head and I can't justify that for my BMs.

Yea.. I showed up with my hair washed and dried naturally and then as she was working she used the flat iron.. if Carly doesn't work maybe I'll be going back to her..

I have super curly hair as well and I still haven't had a hair trial!! It's driving me crazy cause I know not everyone can deal or manage my hair. I have A LOT of hair too! I have an appt with hair genie... let's see how it goes...

I know. Even searching for pictures is annoying because I can never find my hair type. I got so frustrated with it the other day I decided, screw it! I can probably pull this off myself.
An hour later I admitted to myself that I could not - I ended up with a mess on my head and a lot of ruined bobby pins.

I went to get my hair cut at Anthony DeFranco this weekend and I went to Carly and she is amazing!!!
I am scheduling a trial with her and she said she'd wash and set my hair in curls with gel before she starts the updo and I have no doubt that its going to stay curly and be exactly what I want.
Def check her out!!! And BTW she has curly hair herself so she can sympathize with us!!

Awesome! Thanks for the update. Post pictures of your trial if you can! It is definetly comforting when the stylist herself has curls.
