Don't pay any attention to the stupid look on my face.
I was not happy with the way the front looked at all, and for some reason the picture doesn't capture what is wrong with it. Suffice it to say, everyone (including FH hated the way the front actually looked.
Pics won't post, so I included link to album instead.

I see what you mean about the front, but the back does look gorgeous. Who was the trail with if you don't mind me asking.

What were you thinking for the front? Is that what you wanted for the back? I think I would want the curls a little looser in the back, unless of course, thats what you had in mind.

LOVEEE the back... The front, Im not happy with either. There's SO many styles you can work with to make the front look better. Your hair looks very manageable, so you should have no problem coming up with a better style to complement both the front & the back.

I gave Renee at Sheers of Elegance a photo of what I wanted. She redid the front a few times before leaving it the way it is in the pics.

Trial was with Renee at Sheers of Elegance. She's in Northport. She's my mom's hairdresser, and also a recommended East Wind vendor. Because of that I decided to give her a try.

I love the back and the pic from the top - very nice. But I can see what you mean about the front.

I see what you're getting at but the person who did your hair definitely did not hit home...I think a similar hairstyle but a little neater would look gorgeous on you.

Thank you. The hair pins were my very first DIY project. I have since discovered that they do not match my dress.

Either that model's hair isn't practical for real wedding hair or your stylist just missed. You should try at least one other person and maybe try Renee again. There is just something strange about the part up front. Just remember that the styles on the models don't always translate into the real world and you have to consider your face and hair. I usually like styles that aren't good for my hair and face so I know!! but the back does look good, better with softer curls. Good luck and keep trying!

I have to be honest with you Darlene - that hairstyle and hair trial do not do your beautiful face justice.
I do not like the hair trial at all - the picture was not even closely replicated. That being said, it's a difficult hairstyle to replicate to begin with, but it honestly was nothing like it at all.
I know you may be set on half-up/half-down, but I would love to see you in an elegant low-bun with volume in the front....
However, if you are set with half-up, half-down, I suggest LESS CURL b/c it honestly makes you look like you're trying to fit into a PROM...Here are a few pics I suggest:

I had a similar problem at my hair trial. I showed the stylist a pic of a style I thought I loved until I saw how it looked on me. I was so sure I wanted curls but I have changed my mind. Sometimes a style can look great until you see it on and realize it just doesn't suit. I agree with Christine in that I think a style with waves and less curl would compliment your beautiful face.

You know what - you are just not 'beaming' in the pic - a good sign that its just not right for you - when something works - you just 'glow' in it - keep looking! That is what these trials are for
