I don't know what I want to do with my hair! I love the look of an updo generally -- neat, out of the way, less to worry about -- but I hate the way I look with my hair all up.
I'm considering doing 1/2 up or down with some parts pinned up, but I don't want to look like my everyday hair. I have pretty straight hair and dont know how well my hair would hold a curl in August for an extendd period of time..
Any thoughts?

I don't really like my hair up and i will not wear it totally down in august..so im probably going with it half up..or all up in a ponytail that appears as if it were down..

hmmm, that's tough. I hate my hair all up, so I'm going with 1/2 up 1/2 down. The problem is if you are going to be outside for any lenght of time & it is really hot & humid, you may want it all up and off your neck & shoulders

ugh-the thought of my hair on my neck in august makes me cringe. my luck my wedding day will be the humidest day of the year. i dont like my hair all up, so i am thinking the same thing-what to do....

Personally, I would go with all up, or atleast all off my neck. My sister got married in August and it was HOT. We were all dying, my hair was half down (I was MOH) and I really regretted it. I was just really uncomfortable.
Talk to you hairdresser, she might be able to figure something out.

if it was me i would def. go up August is hot and i would not want my hair down at all i would think i would be really uncomfortable!!!

I would say up also becuase you have to worry about the FRIZZ with the humiduty in August. It probably would also be more comfortable..

I think it depends on you and your hair. I know that I would wear my hair up, because I'm a sweathog, and my hair gets frizzy and nasty.

thats tough bc i really dont like how i look with my hair all up and i wouldnt want to hate the way i look on my wedding day and then looking at pics sitting there saying ugh i hate my hair up. That is another big reason i picked may, because of the weather i didnt want it too hot.
but if you dont mind your hair up then find updo's that you would love

I dont ike my hair all up either and was considering half up. Even if I do it all up- it will be kinda loose, not a tight/neat updo.
like this- but more up and away from the face. You will be in AC- but it gets hot dancing and all. My sisters wedding was the end of July an dwe were dying- I was glad to have my hair all up that day!
Whats best for your dress., did you have a trial yet

My wedding was on labor day and I wore my hair all down. It was like 85 degrees out. The curls fell a little, but I was not all sweaty at all on the back of my neck. I do not like the way updos look on me either and grew my hair for so long for the wedding - I had to wear it down. I have no regrets!

This all depends on you and your preferences. I got married in August and I sweat a lot, so I chose to wear it all up. I totally didn't regret it--with all the dancing, the dress, the taking pictures I didn't have to worry about frizz or anything...and I have a tendency to touch my hair a lot, so having it all up was the perfect solution.
Try some different hairstyles and see how you like them.

I guess you have to know how you are...personally I wouldn't want to worry all day that my curls would fall, or that my hair would frizz cause I think for me that would trump how i felt about how I looked with my hair up. Personally I am wearing my hair all up because I don't want to worry about it all day because I know I would...plus I am a person who touches my hair and I know that would really screw it up if my hair was down!
