Hairstylists in the Western Nassau Area?

I am having a really hard time finding someone to do my hair and my bridal posse''s for a reasonable price. It would be great if I could have someone come to me, but it''s not a big deal to bring everyone somewhere else, but the prices I''m getting in the N.Shore Nassau area is $75-$150 a head. I think that is outrageous, as I''ve never paid more for an up-do than a haircut! Any recommendations would be great! BTW, the wedding is in September, so I''m on a time crunch as well.

Just a suggestion, is there a family member or a friend that could do all of your hair either for free or a small fee. Either that or you gals could have a rehersal slumber party and do eachother's hair. My best friend got married this past September and I did her hair for her. It looked great. Good luck! Vic

Hairstylists in the Western Nassau Area?

Franklin Square is a little far, but I'd be willing to check it out. I'm actually on the North Shore, so Manhasset/Port Washington/Roslyn would be great if anyone knows of places that are good.

Unfortunately, people hear the word wedding and double or triple the price -especially on LI, because they know they can get away with it. My sister and I ended up going to a small salon in our hometown for her wedding, but I think we got lucky!

MikkiRed, most salons charge alot of money for abride for makeup or hair. my hair is costing me $175. the stylist is coming to my house. I don't even think thats expensive compared to some prices i was quoted from other salons. My makeup is $150. Thats not too bad either. my make up artist has been posted on this site,as well as hair stylist. some of the other makeup and hairstlists that have been posted on this site, cost $350, for makeup, i believe the artist's name is Allison Raffaele. of course these people charge alot of money, its very time consuming to work on a bride. i have very long hair, and i can't even believe my stylist was able to put it up, let alone pin a headpiece and veil to it! Good luck if you find someone under $100, just make sure you have a trial to make sure your happy with the end result
