Half-way there!!!!

Can you believe it? Today starts my 20th week!!! I can't believe it's half-way already!!! Now I'm really starting to get excited and into it, after getting all my results from the amnio and just having the Level 2 sonogram on Thursday.

My little Bear Cub is 14 oz. now and between 5-6'! Joe was practically a contortionist in his seat trying to see if he could see 'anything' and he SWEARS he saw something and is telling everyone we're having a 'little Angelo'!! He didn't see a blessed thing because there was nothing to see!!!!!! And the best part is that he wants a girl!! He doesn't know what he's talking about!!!

We went furniture shopping this weekend and picked out our crib and combo/dresser!! It was a lot of fun and watching Joe walk around BBB and BRU pressing every single button on every single thing in the store that makes noise, was very funny!!! But the best was watching him try to figure out how to put the infant seat on the stroller and opening and closing the stroller!!! Priceless!!!

Guys love those games (registering) lol. Anything thats somewhat similar to a videogame, they'll play!
If registering didnt involve the little guns, i dont think guys would go !

YAY!!! That is great news! Anna is right - the time is going to fly now!! Enjoy every little minute. Have you felt the baby move yet??

No Lee, and of course I was worrying to death about that, until the sonogram when I saw the baby move and the heart beating away!!!! Every one asks and then they scare the crap out of you by saying 'oh well, you should've felt it by now' -- thanks, like I'm not worrying enough as is!!! How are you doing? Almost there, right?

Anna, as for registering, I can only imagine the 'fun' he'll have when he gets that gun in his hand!!! He was so busy playing with this fire engine exersaucer, that he said to me 'this is the one we're getting' -- um, and if it's a girl? And you know he only likes it because it makes all this noise! Wait until all these noise makers are in our house! We'll see who will be the first one flinging the stuff in the garbage!!!

Another funny story about the sonogram! The technician gives us a picture and leaves to get the dr, so I look at it and go 'oh, that's not a good picture, it's scary looking -- it looks like the Crypt keeper from Tales from the Crypt!' and Joe agrees. So when the dr comes in, I ask her to give us a better pic and tell her why -- well she just burst out laughing and said 'I've heard it being called ET or an alien, but I've never heard of the Cryptkeeper and don't even know what that is!' and then when we explain. On the way out she goes to us 'you two are very funny' and Joe goes 'that's what everyone tells us' -- I didn't know whether to be mortified or laugh!!!

LOL Debbie, pushing the buttons on the toys! I thought you meant you were registering (woops, mommy mush brain)...

Yep the sonogram looks scary, and in one, John Anthony was 'facing' the camera, so it looked like an alien like the doctor said to you !!

ugh, dont listen to people with negative comments! I used to be told by nurses or Dr's 'hey the baby is so comfy that it doesnt need to move around so much!' especially when he/she is that tiny, its MUCH hard to pinpoint the feeling. He/she IS moving, you just dont feel it strongly yet!

Lauren, we started to look because I know it takes a long time, as it is, the crib we picked out is made by Pali, and since it's an Italian manufacturer, they close for the whole month of August, so that's 4 weeks gone. The guy told us (we went to Behr's) that it's 12 weeks, plus the 4, so 16 weeks!!!!! That's not much to play with -- then again, it could always come in early also. I wanted to start looking so that when I'm ready to buy, I only go to that one place. We also went to BRU and BBB and I didn't see anything I liked in BRU, but there was one crib I liked in BBB. Look around at a couple of places.

As for registering, I'm not doing that until I'm at least 6 months. But I have an idea of a few things I want. I'll probably register in both BRU and BBB because there were some things in one store and not the other.

Sounds like your DH will have lots of fun with the baby. Derek has such a blast with Luke, they hang and laugh together. The baby is in love with him!

LOL about the sonograms - my friend is PG and on one of her earlier sonograms the baby looks like a gingerbread man We got a video of Luke's sonogram and we had a side view for about a minute and then all of a sudden it looks like he turns his head to look at us - it looks so funny, a little creepy in fact.

For me, sometimes to pregnancy flew and other times it seemed to be taking forever. Enjoy the slower pace that pregnancy 'forces' you into - I loved that about being pg.

I'm SO excited for you!!! I love your story about the Crypt Keeper picture... I know how weird some of those pictures can look!! But it's YOUR Crypt Keeper, and that's what makes him/her CUTE!

Thank you!!!!!! My MIL told me I'd better stop calling 'her grandchild that'!!! So Joe is calling little Bear Cub 'little Angelo' -- he's going to be in for a very rude awakening if it turns out to be little Gianna!!!

So, Jen, do you think I can call Patrick when I'm in labor because I know for sure that Joe will be passed out somewhere! I'm telling ya, I'll be driving myself and he'll be in the backseat passed out. They almost had to give him something while I had my amnio, can you imagine him during labor and delivery????

Maybe I should call TLC so they can film him and you can all see first hand my wonderfully nutty nervous-nellie hubby!!!

Sure, call Patrick! If he's working he can be there pretty quickly and help revive Joe!!

I would LOVE to see you and Joe on A Baby Story! It would probably be the best and funniest episode!!!

Oh goody!! The funniest moment would be when the camera pans to Joe flat out cold on his back!!! And everyone running to help him and me sitting there saying 'what about me?'

I go to the dr tonight for my 20 week checkup. Have to go pee, get on the scale (GULP) and then listen to little Bear Cub's heartbeat!!!
