im going to be honest....my brother got married there in 04 and it was CHAOS!! His wedding turned me off to catering halls which is why I was so anal about being the only bride on my day. I was in the bridal party and we were waiting on line to take pics...then while we were taking pics another BP was standing there staring at us, it was so uncomfortable and rushed. The pictures came out horrible and we never even got to take pictures in the garden bc there were 2 other weddings there that night. My brother had the big room upstairs and when we were up there it was fine...but to come down to use the bathroom and to go to the lobby was a free for all. There were so many people there, it was ridiculously crowded with other people's families...and at the end of the night it took forever to get our car out of valet. Mind u this was a friday night in april...by no means peak time...sorry I'm being a little brutal, I just wanted to be honest. The food was ok and the room was nice, but the chaos turned me off all together.

Re: hall dilemma - help!
I just wanted to add a little from my post before ... you have to choose your battles. I already know what my guests are going to complain about - if it rains our CH is going to be crowded and there's not enough seats for everyone. You know what - I don't care. I don't have a problem with it, and people are always going to find something to complain about.
So if the possibility of chaos (doesn't mean that's actually going to happen on your day, or maybe you have a higher tolerance) outside of your room doesn't bother you then don't worry if other people are going to be unhappy - but if it really bothers you, think about your options. I really like what ali1206 said - take your pictures somewhere else. A lot of girls do that anyway because you're usually limited in your pictures at the hall - unless it's some place like Westbury Manor.

ok reading this stuff about my hall seriously makes me cry BUT then i remember when FH and i walked in we KNEW it was 'our' hall . . . and I am happy that we chose to have it there
as for chaos - i understand why that would bother some people but honestly, you are in the CH room - you leave and see chaos - you go into the room for dinner. . . yeah if you go have a cigarette or go to the bathroom MAYBE there will be a billion people there. . . I never noticed that at other weddings i have been to as long as the atmosphere INSIDE the rooms was excellent
as for seeing another bride, if that is going to bother you then i think you should go look at places with only one wedding at a time - you still have time to change if you really want to
these are all things that i knew wouldnt bother me and i absolutely fell in love with the whole place . . .
also, there are SO MANY weddings at JT that you are going to get some bad reviews. . . sometimes i feel like i am reading all excellent reviews and sometimes i feel like i am reading all horrendous reviews - while its great to get opinions, you have to kind of just trust your instinct when it comes to big decisions like this!
FM if you want to talk - i know i am freaking out a bit now too
just wanted to add: as for food i have never really heard anything bad about it - honestly, when i say i am getting married there everyone's first reaction is ' i had the best meal there' or something similar - ask for a tasting if you are worried!

I think it also depends on when your wedding is going to be. A saturday night will be more crowded than a day wedding. My fiancee and I are having trouble deciding, we've narrowed it down to westbury manor, jericho terrace, north ritz club and harbor club? Any suggestions?

Re: hall dilemma - help!
My best friend got married at JT and she also had no idea just how many brides there would be wandering around the common areas. She was upset that she had to wait for pictures and for her it did not fall at a time she was happy with during her reception, but she really had no choice. The food was good, but for me, if I am spending that kind of money, I do want to be the only one or at least feel like the only Bride that day.

Sounds like it's not a big deal, but choose to have you pictures taken elsewhere. There are many places from which to choose. You'll have enough hall pics that you can get your other pics elsewhere. No big deal.

I don't really see it as a big deal either, we visited Jericho Terrace and it seems to me there are SO many places to take pictures outside and inside that it would be impossible for all the areas to be occupied at once, we kind of had to postpone planning a little but now we are just going to look at a few more halls , but I really like Jericho Terrace and it seems to me any negative I hear is SO minor it only reinforces my feelings about it.
