Hall how do you know which to pick?

Hall how do you know which to pick?

So how did you know you pick the best place for you to have your others half for your reception????I'm just thinking it was easier to find the love of my life than a recepition hall. I'm really tossed btw a Pine hollow inn and Brentwood. I'm confident that in the end we will be happy with no matter which we pick. My FH like the wow when you pull up and i could care less i rather great food and interrior style. Any advice?

IMHO, I think it's how you FEEL when you look at the place. Can you picture yourself there, floating around in your beautiful wedding dress? That's how I felt when I booked. We waited to get a tasting in before giving any $$$, but I was sold on the feeling of the place first! Good luck!!!

When I walked into my reception hall I just knew it was the place. I had looked at a few places before the RH that i picked and a few places after. I just kept comparing everything after to the RH that I booked.

me too....we both walked in and just giggle like school kids....we knew the second we walked in...i am not even kidding. wm was so us it was just weird! we had never even been there before! I am just totally into the old world feel...the antique wedding pics on the walls...and the fact that it was a home..not a catering hall really... We didnt want to seem like suckers so we sat through the whole first meeting and acted like we had to think about it and then when we got to the car we screamed and hugged and siad yeeeaaah this is the place!
we are dorks but the choice was so easy....I guess its not like that for everyone but honestly it was like that with my hall and my dress!

I just want to say that there are other ways to know besides just feeling it when you walk in. That doesn't happen for every bride, but that doesn't mean that the hall she chooses is not ultimately the right/perfect choice for her. For me, I saw 10 halls and was so overwhelmed I felt like none of them were 'it.' Then I put up a post here with my feelings and other brides helped me to realize that I had already seen the hall that was 'it' but was just too anxious to realize it. I made a list of everything I was looking for in a perfect place to have my reception. I realized that Land's End had almost every single thing. It was just that all their Saturdays were booked so in my mind I just crossed them from my list. Then I thought about it and realized that it would not be a big deal to get married on the Friday AND that it would save me money. When I took that factor out of it, I realized LE was it.

So, I'd make a list of what you envision in your mind as 'perfect.' Then I'd see whether a particular place you've seen has all or almost all of the characteristics of your perfect place. If you haven't seen that kind of place yet, I'd keep looking.

i liked how it looked and i also liked the amount of things i was getting for the price. I've also heard good things about the food/service from people who've been to weddings there before

We're having an indian wedding and we knew we wanted the ceremony and reception to take place in a hotel ballroom (easier for OOT guests), so we chose the hotel that had experience in indian weddings and would let us bring in our own caterer.

It is totally a feeling. It is like when you finally find the perfect wedding dress. You just know. Then of course you have to consider cost but it all usually just falls into place.

At first I didn't believe in that 'feeling' but it is sooo true! When we visited WM we were sitting there thinking there is no way we can afford this...but then we heard the price and it was LOVE hehe You'll know!

We knew the look and feel of the CB was what we wanted for our day. When you picture your day what king of feeling do you want? Then go from there.

We looked at 6 halls, the one we booked was number 5. We walked in, I saw my RH and that was it. We went to one more hall just to make sure, but every other hall was compared to Fox Hollow.

It doesn't hurt that I got the best price from them either Budget was a main concern for us as well.

After reviewing RH's on the internet, I couldn't wait to see the Woodlands. As soon as I entered the golf course and drove down the long driveway and saw this beautiful mansion in front of me, I knew that was the place. I was with my mom and she made me go throught the motions and we looked at 6 other halls in 2 days and I just kept thinking woodlands, woodlands. These other halls were beautiful and had lots of extras but, it wasnt the Woodlands. You will just get that feeling when you find it.

We saw a couple of RH.... and we chose the second one .. Majestic Gardens.... it is just so beautiful inside and out.. We fell in love with it and had that WOW after we left. We are going back there for the Expo on Sept 10th , and I can't wait to go see it again ! It is a bit costly .... but my FH told me that if I wanted it there, then that is where we will have it .... We are paying for the wedding !!!!!!

another thing is to make a list of things that you absolutely MUST have (for us, it was a ballroom within a hotel and a place that allowed indian catering). That narrowed our search.

1. You love the 'feel'

2. You LOVE the food

3. It's in your price range

4. It can accomodate all of your guests

5. It's not ridiculously far from your ceremony site OR it has a fabulous area for an on site ceremony

6. The banquet manager is easy to talk to and easy to reach by phone or email

7. The contract is fair and reasonable
