Hall how do you know which to pick?

Original post by Angel06

So how did you know you pick the best place for you to have your others half for your reception????I'm just thinking it was easier to find the love of my life than a recepition hall. I'm really tossed btw a Pine hollow inn and Brentwood. I'm confident that in the end we will be happy with no matter which we pick. My FH like the wow when you pull up and i could care less i rather great food and interrior style. Any advice?

i always wanted to get married near the ocean but all the halls we looked at were booked for the summer on a friday night; those were my 2 other requirements. so when we went to Woodbury, they told us they just had a friday open up in june. the price was reasonable and the food was outrageous. so it really came down to the date being available and a good deal. it helped that woodbury was superb also!!! i didnt get my ocean view reception, but I live a block from the ocean so i get it daily anyway

guess it just comes down to whats most important to you

look at the price, decor, if it can hold the amount of people youre having, what kind of cocktail hour/vienesse hour they have, what kind of rooms they have, etc.

you have to have a vision for your wedding i think at first, and going to the halls ask yourself if you can seee your wedding there, if its the type of place you always wanted.

There were a bunch of different factors for me:
THe first was PRICE. Of course, decor was also important- indoor and outdoor. The friendliness of the staff, willingless to negogiate prices. THe size of the room and types of tables in the room (we wanted round), what was included in packages. Overall, we picked the place we did because we just knew it was the one and got a great feel from it.

For me there were a few factors that went into my decision , and when we walked into the Royalton we 'knew' this was the place

what was important to me was that

1. we were the only event going on at one time

2. decor- i wanted very simple , clean and elegant , wood dance floor, no carpet , huge chandeliers ect

3. Food- the ability to select our menu was huge for us , if we wanted something prepared a certain way , the royalton is great that way , and the food is AMAZING

We knew right away that nothing compared to it! It was the first RH we looked at... we went to like 6 others afterwards just to make sure and nothing compared in price, food, and the friedliness of the BM and staff

To be honest, FH and I never really been to a lot of weddings in our lives so once we got engaged, my head was so high on cloud nine that every hall looked great to us at first! lol. But we decided to take our time and really analyze the type of wedding we wanted and the look we were going for. We were almost settled on one place but something just wasn't right about the place (banquet manager's sarcasm, price). We decided to look at one more place that I kept hearing about over and over and when we went there the staff was great, the ambiance was above and beyond and we got a great price with lots of extras included. I feel like my banquet manager is truly a friend and not a sales person. I get over joyed knowing that I will marry the love of my life there!

When we drove up to it we both felt like 'we arrived'
Inside was perfect and the food was amazing! We requested a food tasting before we booked to make sure it was delicious! THat was a key element to our desicion!

money, what is avaiable and what is convenient for guests

yep, same for me... they gave us a lot for our money, one wedding hall which we wanted, loved the look of it, had the date we wanted available, good location... best overall choice for us.
