Halle Berry Splits From Benet

Access Hollywood has learned that Oscar winner Halle Berry has separated from her husband, singer Eric Benet, after nearly two years of marriage.

In a statement that Berry released, she said: 'Eric and I have had marital problems for some time now and have tried to work things out together. However, at the this point I feel we need time apart to re-evaluate our union. We ask that you respect our privacy as we are going through this emotional time.'

Halle recently opened up about the struggle to make their marriage work in the October issue of Elle magazine. Berry said she supported Eric during his rehab for reported sexual addiction.

'I've been through it with my husband, but it's not about alcohol,' Halle said in the article. 'If everybody lived by the principles of 12-steps, there would be a lot more healthy people walking around.'

Halle had only spoken about her marital problems on camera once, and that was to Access Hollywood's Nancy O'Dell at the 'Evelyn' premiere last year.

'I just love him and marriage is about sticking together through tough times and we're sticking together and we feel really good about that,' Halle told Nancy.

That guy is such a loser. He's married to HALLE BERRY for GOD sake!!!!!!! Further more, she adopted his daughter and is truly a mother to her, she is always photographed doing things with that girl. I hope she finally finds happiness...

I agree with janatlantica, he is such a loser. He needs to learn to keep it zipped and she needs to find friends that won't sleep with her husband. I hope she stays as close to the daughter, she seems like a gret mom to her

I said this in a thread about this yesterday...

While I find her breathtakingly beautiful, I cannot stand her. That whole hit and run thing left a bad taste in my mouth and that farce of an Oscar win for badly portraying a nasty, screaming, crying, fvck up - p*ssed me off. I think that movie was a*s just like her performance.

As far as him being all wrong...it takes two to tango. Once you're in a relationship - everything is 50/50. He's cheating and you're aware - you're enabling...and while I feel for you - you have choices and if you don't exercise them, you're just as much of an idiot as said cheater.
