I think you were on the right track with the Knights of Columbus- some are more elegant than others.

I don't really know of any, ( i moved of LI) but maybe just look at a few.

My uncle's 50th was at one, but I don't think its quite as elegant as you are thinking.

Are you sure you have to be member? I've heard otherwise, but I could be wrong. Why don't you try calling the Yacht Club? If you don't call you won't know, right?

I found the number for you...its actually Old Mill Yacht Club (phone: 718-835-0454)

thanks i called and they gave me a another name and # of the guy who is in charge of that so ill do that tommoro

thanks again

There is a Knights in Oceanside that is really nice looking. You need to use their cater though. There is also one in Hicksville (we had my sisters E-party and graduation party there). Again you need to use their cater but it is very in-expensive. I think we paid about 15-18 per person and that included an open bar but that was for a buffet. Again with the knights you need to be a knight althought there are plenty of people who are members around.

Our reception was at the Stewart Manor Country Club. (www.stewartmanor.com) $65pp, cake, centerpieces linens included. Great food, personal service, 1 wedding at a time, pretty grounds.

Good luck!!

We had my godson's christening at the Holbrook Country club and that was nice. There's also a place on Sunrise highway near the bohemia Islip area...if your going west it would be on your left hand side in the same shopping center that Exxpressions is in. We had a christening there also. The Oar House...not sure what it looks like...we're going to check it out for our RD.

I am having my wedding at the Knights in Bellmore. You do not have to be a Knight to do this. The one in oceanside is beautiful and the one in Seaford is called Memorare and it is also nice. I am having it at the Bellmore one b/c my father belongs and it was just recently renovated. The food at the Bellmore is delicious and they really do work with you to get you what you want...just thought I would put in my 2 cents Good luck in your decision making

Complete Wedding Packages Prices:

Monday - Thursday $5,999 Complete
Friday $8,455 Complete
Saturday AM $8,326 Complete
Saturday PM $8,999 Complete

These are the prices for The Medeterraian Manor, not too high and maybe just the same as a backyard wedding if you add up what you would be spending, also you maybe able to get better prices because of the short notice, as well as if you cut things off the menu you don't want

and this includes EVERYTHING< invites, music, photography, flowers, limos,

I dont know if this will help, but I had my Eparty at Vito's in Long Beach. It is per person but the food is amazing and they have a house DJ. I think (depending on what you want) the price ranges $35- $42/ person.
The place is beautiful and I always said I should have gotten married there. Also you are a block away from the beach so you can walk right up and take beautiful picts.

The other place that someone mentioned earlier, that I have been to is the KOC in Oceanside. My sister had her Eparty there. It was really really nice!

ETA: We had about 120 people at Vito's. I think the max is 150. I am not sure how many guests you have.
The house DJ is $500 for the night.

I know that Leonard's of Great neck will rent out the hall so you can do your own thing. I'm pretty sure they give you tables and chairs. I'm not sure of the price, but I thought I'd let you know.

Try the Stewart Manor Country Club (www.stewartmanor.com) 1 wedding at a time, great price and food, cake, centerpieces and linens included. Weather permitting, tables and chairs are set up outside for the cocktail hour.

Good luck,
