Well, we are recently engaged and have already narrowed down our hall selection to the following: Jericho Terrace, Westbury Manor and the Sandcastle. Does anyone have any reviews, comments, experiences, or negative comments to make about any of the halls? We would like to try to select by this weekend so any advice would be so appreciated!
I fell in love with Westbury Manor feeling when we saw it - the rooms, the warm and homey feeling and we are having a winter wedding. We are just really concerned about the food because we have not tasted it and the size of the space.
Westbury Manor - how many people can it fit comfortably and How is the food really? We are so picky!
I know Jericho Terrace's cocktail hour food was amazing and the room is huge - so my fiance loved that.
We loved the sandcastle, but i don't know how i feel yet about the idea of driving up the the 'castle' building and the ballroom with all of the castles... it is a bit much but the food will probably be amazing and the cocktail hour room was awesome!
Any advice as well about how JT and WM treats brides since other weddings are going on there? I would hate the idea of hearing the other parties music blasting.
Try to set up tastings at each your choices! We were sold after we had our tasting at the Sandcastle!! I've yet to hear anything but amazing things about the Sandcastle. But I am just a bit biased!!
I did not ultimately book at westbury manor but i loved it there! The grounds are beautiful, the food is suppossed to be great and you get alot for your money. The staff also seem very professional. The only reason i didnt book there is because I felt that overall it was too big (I am only having about 100-125 people) and I wanted a more intimate space.
It all depends on the feel you want. I haven't been to Sandcastle but I did go to JT and I booked Westbury Manor. JT has a more mediterranean feel. The one thing I really didn't like about JT was that its located on a busy street. But it is beautiful inside and the food looked delicious.
I ultimately went with Westbury Manor because its not like any other RH's that i've seen. It has an old, cozy feeling. I didn't want the 'typical' RH and WM definetly is not 'typical'. The food is delicious and the staff is very friendly. I think you can't go wrong with either JT or WM. Good luck!!
How big is your wedding going to be? We loved the Westbury Manor, but it was too small for us. They claim it can hold like an insane amount of people, but when we saw the room it was set up for 170 and it looked a little cramped as it was. Also, I don't know if it's the same for a winter wedding, but their guarantee for a Saturday night is like 225, which we thought was crazy and we didn't feel comfortable with that. If you're having a small wedding and the guarantee is lower, than I would definitely say check it out!!!
Also, I cannot say anything but AMAZING things about the Sandcastle!!! Everything is top of the line and so outstanding. My sister got married there two years ago and my parents got calls and messages for like a year from her guests saying it was the best wedding they had ever gone to and it was just so amazing. If you have it at night, the room will not be so bright as to see the cheesy Castle decor. I don't like it either when I see it in pictures, but I didn't even realize it the night of the wedding.
Our wedding was as JT....unbelievably PHENOMENAL. i do not have one negative thing to say...our wedding was in '06 and people still talk about how wonderful it all was u can check out my review if u want.. it's loaded w/photos & more info..
good luck! i've heard good things about all three that u posted so i'm sure it'll be great no matter which choice u make!
we had a winter wedding at WM and were very happy with everything. we had a small wedding (100 people) and used the room upstairs, which also has the really nice CH room that has a balcony and fireplace. the CH was a little crowded, but no one complained.
Thank you - do you have any comments from your sister about the greece hotel that the sandcastle gives away with the wedding? they use it as a selling point but i want to be sure it is actually worth thinking about.
You should do a search on the reviews board - so many brides get married here that I am sure there are plenty to look at to get a better idea of these RHs.

I don't know if this was directed at me? My sister didn't use the Greek honeymoon. I am getting married at the Floral Terrace (owned by the same people as SC) and we are probably going to use the vacation! It's TEN DAYS in Greece with 3 meals a day. When else will you ever get a free trip to Europe? There are sparse reviews about it on LIW when I have searched, but everything is a great review. The workers at the local diner that my parents go to like all the time know the people who own the hotel and they only had the BEST things to say about it. They made it sound so beautiful and so accommodating, we got really excited about it!
My FH and I visited all 3 halls when we were looking. And I think they all look amazing. I really didn't like Westbury Manor. They advertise that they can hold more than 250, but when we showed up at our appt, they told us the max is 200 and didn't even allow us to look around.
My vote goes to JT. I love the design. I would have loved to have our wedding there because my FH's and my initials are J & T.
i have heard nothing but wonderful things about all three. i love the wm tho, and the food is wonderful go for dinner there, you wont be disappointed!!! good luck xo
i love WM, but i'm biased - i like the fact that it was more like a home than a reception hall.
it all depends on what you are looking for. not everyone is going to like the same thing.
i didn't like JT because it's right on jericho turnpike, in a busy area and you can see the people taking photos. i wouldn't consider sandcastle because i live only a few blocks away and i was there for my sr banquet years ago and was not impressed.
