Halls - Jericho Terrace, Sandcastle, Westbury Manor

Original post by mnbkissimee

Well, we are recently engaged and have already narrowed down our hall selection to the following:
Jericho Terrace, Westbury Manor and the Sandcastle. Does anyone have any reviews, comments, experiences, or negative comments to make about any of the halls? We would like to try to select by this weekend so any advice would be so appreciated!

Thank you!!!

they all have a very different vibe, so think about what you are looking for.

what helped me a lot was when the BM took me around, i wanted to walk through as the guests would...meaning starting from the door, how would they be greeted? where do they go? coat check/valet? where are the place cards? what happens if they are there earlier? where are the bathrooms? etc etc.

all three locations you mentioned are well known for good service and food, so you cant go wrong. i think its really which one will execute the way you envision.

some reasons we picked sandcastle -- one wedding at a time. service is AMAZING. if they arrive early they have a separate VIP waiting area that includes open bar and light appetizers (so its not like they are just waiting, standing around with tea and cookies). the cocktail hour room and food is ridiculously impressive. they threw in the CH music -- live piano player. and i loved the lighting in the main room (one less expense to think of).

some places that we looked we turned down because when i took the guests run through, i was disappointed...either in placement of things , the CH room, how the BM acted when i asked a bunch of stupid questions...etc...

so ithink you should re-visit each and do the 'walk through'...if you like them all...do a tasting...if you still like them all....do it based on value for your $$...after all, weddings are expensive!!

Good luck!!

Ever since I've booked I've had nothing but wonderful things to say about Jericho Terrace. I have never once heard a bad thing about a wedding there. The food is amazing. The rooms are gorgeous. you cant go wrong with JT.

We are so biased.....Definitely JT. Luv JT. They are very accomodating and their staff is great ! Definitely will work with you. We love our banquet manager from JT, Robert Stevenson.

Of course, I love Jericho Terrace because thats where we booked. Like the other girls have said, I honestly have never heard anything bad about it. To be fair, some people have not booked JT because it is on a main road. I too intially wanted a place with expansive grounds and that would be awesome but when choosing a RH, everything must go into account, not just one factor. Also, JT does have picture opportunites and some gardens and balconies for pictures. I wouldnt have chosen a RH with nothing at all for pictures or scenary.

Unfortunately Ive never been to an event at WM or Sand Castle so I cant comment too much but from reviews, WM is wonderful and very popular. Has beautiful grounds and has a little more of a lodge feeling I believe. I

dont know much about Sand Castle. Good luck!

The only one I visited from there is Westbury Manor, and Westbury Manor is gorgeous. It has a very historical & homey feel to it. However, we are having a rather large party and just felt that it wouldn't be big enough.

Sandcastle is a dream....my sister is getting married there in Sept. My friend had ger weding at JT and got rave reviews from people. She loved it too and she said the food was great.
