Hamlet Country Club in Commack?

Has anyone been or have booked there?

I've been there for a summer wedding. The food was good, but the cocktail hour space was tight. Since it was a summer wedding, it was ok, because many of the guests went outside and spread out. But I'm not sure how it would work for a wedding on a cold or rainy day. I think it might be a little squished for the cocktail hour.

But the ballroom and reception were very nice.

I agree....I went there for a wedding last winter and the cocktail hour was very cramped making it hard to get to all off the different food stations. The ballroom was fantastic and we had a great time at that portion of the wedding.

I almost booked there. The place is gorgeous inside, and I actually really loved the cocktail hour space. My only complaint is I didn't like how the DJ is set up in front of the gorgeous windows, while the sweetheart table is pretty much set up right in front of the bar. That honestly really bothered me and made me not want to book there. I'm a PITA.

ETA: If you want to know more about the other Hamlets, (Hamlet Willow Creek or Hamlet Wind Watch), feel free to FM me. I'm getting married at HWC and my sister got married at HWW, so I'm very familiar with both places.

How many guests do you have? I don't know if they can accommodate over 200....

I think she said that you could switch it around put the the band closer to the bar and the sweetheart table by the windows - but I guess that would be kinda weird too? Don't worry - I like PITAs!

HWC can accommodate 230. HWW I have to double check on, but I think less than that. Hamlet in Commack is by far the biggest of all three, so if you have a large wedding that one is probably your best best.

If I were you, I'd definitely check out the Hamlet in Commack. It really is such a pretty hall.

Yea, I had thought about that, but then I thought it was weird because they'd have their back to some guests (if you have the whole ballroom filled).

They do have albums there with pictures of both set ups for you, so you can check which you like most. It seems that most people put the dj/band next to the window, though.

I actually looked at the Commack one today - my family really liked it - but I was definitely worried about cocktail hour size - and this all confirmed it...I went to WW yesterday - and they said they could accom. 250 - but there's no way - plus I'm doing the ceremony where ever I get married so the L shape room seems a little odd too...

Oooo yea, I hear ya.

Did you check out East Wind's Estate? They just painted the estate room to a nice cream color. It looks pretty and can definitely fit a large group.

I would have looked - but my parents feel it's too far - we have guests coming from NJ and what not.....
