Did anyone go see them? It's actually in Plainview right off the expressway. We're going to see it tomorrow - long story short, we booked the Hamlet in Commack and they double booked us with their end of the year golf tournament - so we can 'share' Commack with the golfers or they will let us go to oyster bay for the same price. (Apparently Oyster Bay is approx. $35 more per person). Any feedback? Thanks!

I am not been there but I know it is brand new. How can you share Commack? Isn't it only one event at a time? The new Hamlet is supposed to be their highhest end. I would try to get a better price though.

Hi Michele - Apparently the old catering manager who has since been fired allowed us to book our Sunday 'twilight' wedding (4:30 pm - 9:30pm) on the same day as the Hamlets big end of the year golf tourney. Their tournament ends at 3:00 and usually the members go back to the clubhouse bar afterwards. So they would have to split our cocktail hour room in half (they have french doors they close) and we'd share the back patio with whatever golfers wanted to hang around. So they are offering us the Hamlet on Oyster Bay for the same price as the Hamlet in Commack. (oyster bay would have been a lot more $). So we're going today to see if we like it.

We just got back from the Hamlet on Olde Oyster Bay which is right off the LIE in Plainview. Wow. It is brand new and absolutely amazingly beautiful. The service from the Hamlet management (all 3 of them) is truly unparalelled. They recognized their error of double booking our date and MORE than made up for it. We're absolutely thrilled

My FIL live in Plainview and called for information about booking our reception there. From what I understand, it is much more than what our budget allows but absolutely beautiful. I read in a magazine that this place has a waterfront view. We couldn't figure out what 'waterfront' the magazine is talking about because Plainview is in the middle of LI.

'waterfront' is stretching it a little .... there's a 4.5 acre manmade lake in the middle of the community.

It's right off the service road at exit 48. Right in the middle of the townhouse community. It's deceiving from the outside, but its so beautiful - everything is brand new and the ballroom is stunning.

Hey, if you guys like it, and they're giving it to you at a cheaper cost...then go for it!!
I got married at the Hamlet in Hauppague and the service really is good - and the food is amazing!

I am glad they worked with you to rectify their error. I think that is a sign of a good vendor. First, they admited they made a mistake and gave you options and worked with you on making it right. Enjoy!
