My Company had there holiday party at the Hamlet. Was not impressed, The dancefloor was nasty, the set-up was strange, and the food and service is forgettable! Good Luck!

I actually disagree completely with KathyF. I am getting married at The Hamlet. I have only heard raves about the food and I love the set-up. Even many of my vendors tell me that the place puts on a beautiful affair and the food is top-notch. The whole thing has been redone so maybe KathyF was there a while back. The event manager has always responded to my requests quickly, and is very nice. They only host one wedding at a time. And I just love the place.

Being a new Bride on LI Weddings I`ve notice that you don`t know who is giving you a Bride`s opinion or a Vendors on bride`s helping bride`s chat. I think you should let the Bride`s judge for themselves, instead of trying to make the sale.

What the ___ was that about? I have posted almost 100x or more on this board for months now. In fact, I even caught a vendor on the board before and said so to everyone. I have a journal on UW, e-mail SonicStef everyday, Melissa and I have e-mailed and have a ton of other friends on these boards. You are the one who has not posted before, not me. I post about all sorts of topics and the truth is my wedding is at the Hamlet, I have heard amazing stuff about it, I love the room, I love working with the event manager Denise. You are the one who did not have anything nice to say about the place. I am not saying you should lie or hold back. That is what these boards are for. But Annavan asked for opinions and I gave mine too. Learn to use the 'Profiles' before makiing an accusation.

Not accussing you of anything, just giving my opinion on how this whole chat thing should really be looked into, on how dishonest it can be. Sorry if you took it the wrong way.

If you scroll down the board, you will see that Michele31 posts constantly. She is totally a bride and she is just trying to give her honest opinion. The original poster asked for an opinion and that was what Michele gave. She is very excited about her reception location and has every right to sound enthusiastic without being accussed of being a vendor!!

KathyF- I see that you`re new to the boards - it`s great to have new posters, but I`m not sure why you`re accusing Michele of being a vendor? She is a bride, posts here all the time! LI Weddings is a great place to share views and opinions, and everyone is entitled to their own, but there`s no reason to be so nasty. We should all be happily planning our weddings!!

Kathy, I do take offense to what you posted. It was totally uncalled for. Just because my opinion is different than yours does not mean I was giving a sales pitch. I gave my honest opinion and what I heard from other people. Please respect the other brides on this board and their posts.

Michele31 is a REAL bride
She is most definitely NOT a vendor...Michele has been soo helpful to me, including finding a STD poem for me and recommending Wild Rose Video. She has a UW journal and is a UW buddy as well...We all sound excited when we talk about our vendors...its very exciting to get married...Please look at her profile...

KathyF... I feel that I should say something...
I'm not trying to be snotty but... If you think that every post must be a vendor soliciting because they're bragging about what and who they've chosen for their wedding, than maybe you shouldn't be on this or any other chat board because that's what a wedding chat board is about. All it is, is brides giving good and bad opinions on everything that has to do with planning their wedding. I live in North Carolina, and without the brides here giving positive and negative feedback, I probably would've given up. Planning from long distance is hard enough, I don't know what I'd ever do without all of the brides here. Trust me, you need their opinions. Good or bad. I feel like I should invite all of them to my wedding. Good luck KathyF. If you need anyone's help, just ask. :)

KathyF...
Your comments re: Michele were totally uncalled for and 100% wrong. You obviously did not check her profile nor scrolled down to see she has always provided excellent advice to future brides (including me). What I find even more appalling is once other posters had mentioned how Michele has positively contribued to this board many times before, you had the audacity to imply she not 'take it the wrong way' when you phrased it in such a way that could only be interpreted as negative. This board has a wealth of information that is provided totally free of charge - the least you can do is show a modicum of respect to those who add that resource.

KathyF...Michele is a bride and very helpful.
I also think it was uncalled for! Michele is a bride! To just come out with that statement was so unfair. Why post a negative comment about a place?? I heard the place was beautiful. She is also getting married at the same church as me. She has helped me whenever I asked an opinion about a vendor. She has really done her research in the bride planning dept and I couldnt think of anyone better to ask for an opinion. Please keep your negative comments to yourself. This is only a happy board!!!!!

Michele is defintely a bride. You should do some research before you start accusing a REAL bride of being a vendor.

Thank you to all of my friends
I appreciate ALL of your support. I can only hope that KathyF will become a helpful member of liweddings. New members are so important and have a lot to offer. As everyone can see just by reading this thread we form real friendships with each other too. Thank you all again.

Michele is a real bride
I`m not a regular poster here but I wanted to add my two cents. Michele is a friend from Ultimateweddings.com. I have seen first hand how helpful she is to other brides and the great stuff she`s putting together for her own wedding. If you think her comments were making a sales pitch...you should see some of our journals over there. Kathy, you may not have intended to make such a negative comment but that`s how it turned out. Please be careful how you phrase things in the future so that your real meaning does not get misinterpreted. Good luck with your plans.

Michele is a real bride
Dear Brides, I have never posted before, but I am NOT a vendor. I have been silently listening to your conversations since I got engaged on Christmas Eve. I love all of the free advice. I am planning my wedding from Baltimore, so this board is going to save me several trips back to the Island. I really doubt that Kathy F is listening anymore, so I am writing to ask that we please get back to the original question about the Hamlet. I have heard Michele and others rave about it and am very excited to see it at the end of the month. My fiance and I have been down here for several years so we have a ton of friends coming up from here. The hotel nearby is very attractive to me. So can we forget about Kathy F and her negative comments about Michele and get back to the good stuff!! Becky

Well, in 18 responses I got one real answer. Interesting. Anyway, I welcome more feedback. They don't let you taste the food before booking and so I am a little nervous. Help. Thanks, Anna.Welcome New Vendors
