I was wondering if anyone has any resources for finding an estate on the east end to host my outdoor reception. I found a few on the internet and called a few real estate offices, but so far no luck. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

A hamptons estate was our original plan -- we interviewed 2 wedding planners - Jill Gordon (www.jillgordoncelebrate.com) and Corinne Strauss (she has a website also, although I don't have it handy right now) As nice as it sounded, it is a lot of work (even with a weddinog planner) and a lot of money. Our budget was $50k for 120 guests. Jill politely said she couldn't do it on our budget and Corinne suggested we lower our guest count. Do a search on hamptons caterers. We called them all - they were either out of our price range, or not what we were looking for. We also looked at Montauk Manor and the Montauk Yacht Club - both were approx. $120 per person. We went to the crows nest which advertises as $65 and up, but it wasn't our style at all. Good Luck to You!!!!
I contacted an owner about his Hamptons rental and he quoted us $150 pp to use the inside of the house and $75 pp if they all stayed outside. That doesn't include catering, porta-potties, tent, etc.. It ends up being more work & money than you would think!!!!

Cher, I'd love to know how your wedding went at Wolffer--I'm getting married there next July. I've been there a ton of times (for tastings and just enjoying the beauty with a glass of wine), but I want to know how the whole event went. We'll be having about 90 people at ours, and we're working with Food and Company.

We actually rented a gorgeous house on Dune Road. The landlord's name is Chris. I don't know how big your wedding will be, or if she'll even go for it, but it is a stunning home. Her website is: http://www.vrbo.com/20687
You can also try to call the chef at the place we catered our pre and post wedding celebrations at SEVEN in Westhampton Beach. He does a lot of outside catering at the huge homes out there and could probably point you in the right direction.
