Hampton House Rentals?

Hampton House Rentals?

Hi Everyone! I'm getting married in June at Vineyard Caterers just east of Riverhead, and someone suggested I look into renting a house in the Hamptons for my family to all stay at rather than getting individual rooms in a hotel. Being from San Diego, I don't know much about this. Does it seem like a better deal? Where would I begin looking to get information? Any info you have would be a help! Thanks! :o)

How long would your family be out for?

I would not know how to go about doing this, I guess you would have to contact a realtor and tell them what you are looking for...

My cousins both got married in bridgehampton, and their Fhs families rented a house for the week in Bridgehampton, and ahd a BLAST! I will ask them about it!

I am not sure because the Hamptons has died downin the past couple of years but by January 2 years ago you could not get a house to rent

IMPORTANT......becareful... i have had some bad experiences with some people renting houses out there

My advice...make sure you know exactly what you're getting. There are houses that get rented out as these 'shared' houses where they rent it to a bunch of different people and then there are like 6-7 people a bedroom. In college this wasn't that big a deal, but I don't think you want that kind of atmosphere for your wedding.

Wow - sounds like I'm going to have to be very aware. Thanks for all the information! Any additional info would also be helpful. Anyone use a really reputable company for rentals? Thanks again!

the only way it would be worth it is if you had a LOT of family staying out there (because it's expensive) - try the villagevoice.com - they have a lot of Hamptons rentals listed. I also know someone that rents out houses for weekends - not sure if he has them already rented already but you can try hamptonsescape.com.

Try cyberrentals.com, they have a few 9-15 bedroom places you can rent...for a decent price. Like $2,000 for the weekend.

Re: Hampton House Rentals?

my family was able to lock in the price of $3500 for a 12 bedroom house for one week in April. June is usually an expensive month because of the US open golf championship. we got the info at vrbo and we visited the house itself before we agreed on anything.

make sure to ask them about the number of people they are allowing because sometimes they make you pay more when you exceed the maximum person allowed. For the house that we rented, we get a max of 40- 45 people.

a friend of the family looked into renting a house in July (a big house- 8 bedrooms) and it was about $10,000
it depends on the season and location
and the condition of the house4
