I love Montauk in the summer...but most places have either a 2 or 3 night minimum stay. We usually stay at the Ocean Resort Inn. It's low key...but we like it that way (not into the whole hamptons see-and-be-seen scene!) The Lakeview in Montauk is a great day and night place (you can lay out, eat, and drink on their deck during the day and it's a club at night).

Well it all depends on what place you mean in the hamptons. There is of course East Hampton, Sag Harbor and Montauk, which are all very different.

East Hampton has all the expensive shops around town (so expensive that the locals can't afford to buy anything ). Montauk is very different than east hampton. Montauk has all the mom&pops kind of stores and the town is like 5 blocks long. Montauk has the lighthouse and tons of fishing-marinas, plus if you're looking to go out at night, Montauk has a few good bars right in town. Sag Harbor is very cute. It has tons of little shops to walk around and a few good bars as well.

So it all depends on what you're looking for. If you're thinking of Montauk, i could name quite a few for you! Montauk has tons of places to stay on the beach. East Hampton doesn't have that many places to stay (that are less than $300 a night). I couldn't really tell you where to stay in Sag Harbor because even though i grew up out here, i'm rarely in sag harbor. FM me if you have any questions.
