My fiance and I are looking to rent a house in the Hamptons (Bridgehampton, Southampton, East Hampton, or Amagansette, etc.) for one week. We're looking for a 7+ bedroom house w/ enough exterior space for the ceremony and sit-down dinner reception. Of course, ideally the house and grounds would be nice as well. No need to be on the beach or ocean. We would like to get married in mid-May before the summer rentals begin.
Has anyone done this? And if so, can you recommend the house you rented?
I looked into this a while ago and i will just say that we also were looking into a 1 week rental and had a very hard time finding one. Most of the rentals were for 1 month, 2 months and 3 months. They were longer rentals and since we couldnt find anything for one week we ended up just doing martha's vineyard instead.
Theres tons of sites that have home rentals, if you google hamptoms house rentals you should get lots of results

I got married in Hampton Bays at a place called The Inn Spot on the Bay (tent wedding on the water)...they have 3 or 4 rooms in the main house and a bunch of cottages that family stayed at all on the grounds...it may work for what you want...you can check out my review...HTH
we are renting houses for our wedding for our guests... we used www.vrbo.com i have also used this site in the past when i rented a house in the poconos and ocean city... it's great!

I have a friend whose parents own a huge, mansion-like house on the beach in Westhampton. They always rent it out - its gorgeous - I have no idea how much they charge to rent it, but if you FM me with your email address and dates wanted, I can pass it on to her -- after the New Year - I'm leaving for CanCun manana!
We looked into this as well but found that its not as easy as it sounds. Don't forget that with town of Southampton there are different codes, you need permits, etc. Just something to keep in mind...
