Hand Cancel invites?

I went to the post office yesterday to send out my first invite to the UK as FH has family there...
Anyway, the post office told me that even if I hand cancel all of my invites, it doesn't guarantee that it won't go through the machine a 2nd time.
Have any of you heard this????
They also said the first 50 hand cancels are free and then its .05 each additional. I thought that was nuts!!

I heard that may happen. I thought even though they hand cancel them through one machine, they had to still go through another??? I honestly dont know..

I'm cheap!! and I can tell you if they told me that.. Id give them 50 walk out and walk back in the next day with 50 more
