So touching, I really want to do it. Will all churches incorporate this into a mass if you ask?

No, not usually. It has no part in a Nuptial Mass. It is not part of the Mass, nor of the Catholic Rite of Marriage, which is set in stone and has been for hundreds of years.

I have heard of some priests doing it, but is rare. Everything that this hand ceremony implies is said in your vows. I tihnk it is appropriate for people getting married at a hall or in another faith tradition where the vows are allowed to be written. It has no place in a Mass, IMO.

I thank you for writing this because I think I got people upset when I wrote 'corny'. For that I am sorry. I didnt want to offend anyone. I think what I meant to say was that I want my religion to be the foundation of my actual marriage ceremony. To me...all the other stuff is just words explaining love...the ceremony is between me, fh and God....I dont know how to write what I am thinking without sounding like a wacko...LOL I am by no means a religious freak but I do not think that I 'hands ceremony' is proper for a church wedding. BUT..although these boards are for discussions...I know that sometimes people get offended when another bride disagrees with them. I dont want to do that so please take this for what it is...JMO.

The only other version I know is the one I mentioned earlier on this thread, where they speak to the Bride and Groom separately, rather than just one speech shared between them. That's the one I'm using, because I love how they make it a little more personal that way, gearing one specifically to the wife about her husband and one to the husband about his wife.

If ya wanna hear how this one goes, let me know and I'll give it to ya.
