Hand Fans For Outdoor Ceremony?

Hi girls,

My wedding will be in September, and if weather permits (keeping my fingers crossed), we would have the ceremony outdoor.

I am afraid it would still be hot at that time and am thinking about providing some hand fans (as attached) on the seats for the guests.

what do you think??

are there other suggestions to keep the guests cool?? (we're not doing programs, so they can't use the program as a fan..)

I think the hand fans are a great idea. I went to a wedding once in September that was in a church and the AC was not working and boy was it HOT. I wish I had one of those fans.

I am either going to provide handfans or parasol paper umbrellas. I will probably go with the handfans cause they are way cheaper (plus I think guests are more apt to use these)

I am having a hard time figuring out how many to get though.....I wonder what % of guests will actually use either option?

i was at 2 late september outdoor weddings and it was REALLY hot... (major makeup meltdown... ) that's why i wanted to provide something for the guests.

i'm thinking of getting 1 fan for 2-3 guests. am pretty sure the guys don't want them... hehee

Yeah - I was thinking exactly the same thing! That maybe 50% to 80% of the women may use the fans (depending on how hot it is), but none of the guys would use them (too froofy )

We were originally going to have an outdoor ceremony and I was going to order fans. I also figured 1 for every 2 people would be enough since guys wouldnt want to use them. I think fans are a great idea!

If you're looking for something simple and inexpensive, Ebay has some great vendors!

These are the ones we are using but with white ribbon. We are painting the wooden handles so that they don't look like tongue depressors. I got them from Jean M Essentials.
