hand vs computer calligraphy

To do computer calligrahpy, it will be $2 an envelope and $1.50 a placecard. To do hand, it will be .75 a line (3 or 4 lines), so $2.25 or $3.00, depending on the invite, and $1.00 per placecard. Which would u pick?? I'm so torn. The envelopes will cost me more, but the placecards will actually be less for the hand calligraphy....argh, I need opinions!!! Does hand done really matter?

I actually PREFER the look of computer calligraphy over hand calligraphy. That's why I used Inkspun.com. They did a GREAT job and they are real cheap.

I would go with computer calligraphy because you have to be careful with the ink in the hand calligraphy. If it's raining you run the risk that the ink will run but check with the person that would be doing it by hand.

I've heard the same thing, but I usually hear it more so about computer callig. that's done on inkjet printers. It looks beautiful when you first get them, but if it rains during delivery there can be some serious problems. If you do decide to get comp. callig. done, I'd seriously recommend making sure that it's all done with laser printers. Michelle at EZ Calligraphy is supposed to be great.

I don't think that one is better then the other... it is just about your own personal taste... However, I have seen much cheaper quotes then the ones that you have listed...

My hand calligraphist did my envelopes for $1.25 a set (inner AND outer) and they are gorgeous. I personally prefer hand calligraphy, and at her prices, my choice was easy.

See how big the difference in price really is and then decide which you like better. It's a personal choice!

I cheaped out on the envelopes.
I printed labels out on the computer. They came out GREAT and FREE.

I got an invitation that had this done & I had told the girl that her calligrapher did a perfect job. I never even noticed the labels (white-on-white). It was a non-decision to this this for my own envelopes.

For the placecards: we will do them ourselves by hand.

NO STRESS

love our envelopes with hand calligraphy AMAZING work. I wouldn't change a thing.

We got the nicole style on this page: nicole style calligraphy ink studio

However, I didn't bother with the placecards. Our placecards are so ornate (each is tied to a starfish with a ribbon) that I figured calligraphy would be overkill. I printed them on a printer using mistral font in word.

This is the one area that I am planning to skimp out on- my friend for her wedding printed them herself on her computer and they came out beautiful

I am chosing computer calligraphy, partly because of the cost, and also because when the ink in hand calligraphy gets wet, it runs.

Computer calligraphy done on inkjet printers will run as well.
