How is everyone handling/how did you handle inviting people on your B or even C list? Did you have 2 sets of invites made?
I ask because I have been invited to weddings where it was obvious I was on the B or C list, like as in I received the invite 3 weeks before the wedding and it was postmarked AFTER the RSVP date had already passed! I was really pissed. If I had gone, I would have also needed to travel across the country, hard to do on 3 weeks notice!

Re: Handling the B list?
LoL some people arent the brightest.... I know someone that recieved an invitation past the rsvp date and its really just careless planning on the hosts part....
I think i'm going to send out invitations early enough so that we get a rough idea of the yes's and no's early on but then again, there could be alot of people who dont rsvp until the last possible day and some are even late...
Yeah, thats a tough situation... but there is no way anyone should be receiving an invitation past the rsvp date.... If anything go out and buy more response cards with a different date on em!!!

Re: Handling the B list?
We just called the B list, and just explained how much we wanted them to be apart of our wedding, but because of our big families we were limited on space but since we had some 'no's' we would love for them to come . (most of our B list were friends parents). They all were so nice and completely understandintg. After we spoke to them, then we sent them an invitation. I think they all appreciated that we called first and didn't just send them an invite a week or less before the RSVP date.

IA, I think the best thing to do is send out invitations extra early so youll get an idea and you will still be ok with dates to send out the 'B List' invites

Re: Handling the B list?
This is what I plan to do - my wedding is on October 25.
Send my A list invites out on July 25.
Send B list invites out on August 25 (or as soon as I can) according to how many NO's I've gotten.
RSVP date on all will be Sept. 25. Still gives B list people plenty of time to RSVP.
If you plan ahead there should be no reason the B list people should even know they are on the B list. I am fortunate only to have a few B listers, and none of these people know anyone else at the wedding, so it's not like they will know they got an invite 1 month after everyone else.

Re: Handling the B list?
Wow, I can't believe they would send it after the RSVP date.
We made our own invitations, so I plan to have the B-List for a later date.
If you have having your invitations made, you might want to send out your invites 7 weeks earlier so that you can get more responses back before the RSVP date.

I was thinkin of doin a similar scheme... but do you think 2 months is way too much time to ask for an rsvp back? just dont want people forgetting about em...

No, I don't think so. Most of the people we are inviting are close, close friends to family - they see or talk to us ALLLLL the time, so I don't think they will forget!

Re: Handling the B list?
i find regardless of how early you send the invites out, there's always going to be a bunch of people who wait to the last minute to send their rsvp back. i'm still waiting on 39 more responses and my rsvp date was last week. as people are responding no back, i send out other invites but i change the rsvp date on it to give them enough time to respond. i guess it's easier to change the rsvp date for me because i printed my own invites. harder when you get your invites printed for you.

Re: Handling the B list?
I sent my invites out last week and already started getting a bunch of rsvp's...yes and no's....so as i get a no, another person from the b list can get an invitation mailed to them.....that way i'm not waiting till the very last second to invite them, and it's still before the rsvp date...and it's not much after the first set was mailed out, so i could even just say that i didn't get a chance to mail them all out at once.

Re: Handling the B list?
I am not doing an A and B list. I am only inviting people I want to be there. I would say if you are doing two lists to change the RSVP date.
