Hang on one minute
I have been busy.
Planning, thinking, researching for my wedding - all the while cooking, cleaning, working and raising 2 little boys.
It ain't easy.
Today I was on the phone with vendor after vendor. And poking around on here while doing work from home. And then on the phone some more with various and sundry people about various and sundry things. Outside of a couple of quick pecks and hugs hello... I barely even noticed my family.
I got off of the computer and put down the phone around 9pm or so - and wandered out into the living room.
And there is my FH in the recliner. Our 5 year old tucked under one arm and our 3 year old sprawled across his chest. All asleep.
I picked up Noah and FH woke up. He told me that both boys had a little medicine because they were warm and crying about having sore throats.
I asked why he didn't come and get me...
He said 'I'm their dad.. I can handle a couple of summer colds... you got everything else going on right now.' I told him I felt like a real jerk for not having a clue about what was going on and that he was such a good parent. He said 'I learned from you... can't go wrong learning from the best'
It made me realize that no matter who i book to do my make-up or what DJ I manage to get or how many slippers I get for the slipper basket or what my invites look like... I am marrying the best man ever.
I want a beautiful wedding - don't get me wrong. But I think I just realized that no matter - on May 5th 2007 I am getting married to the person who makes my heart sing.
And now I am going to go to bed and hold his hand and fall asleep dreaming about our someday when we are both old and gray and sitting on our porch telling our grandchildren about our wedding day.
