Hanna info......

Original post by amandah75

Time-line
10pm Friday to 6am Saturday - Rain showers with periods of heavy rain and thunderstorms
6am to 6pm Saturday - Periods of rain, heavy at times with thunderstorms. Coastal flooding and beach erosion a major problem during high tide, which is from noon to 5pm around the island. Winds gusts to 40 mph at this point. Some power outages likely.

6pm Saturday to 4am Sunday This is the worst part of the storm for Long Island. Winds gusts to 60mph. Rain, heavy at times with thunderstorms. Street Flooding, Flight delays and power outages likely. Some 'tornadoes' are possible as the storm moves away from LI. High tide is between Midnight and 5am Sunday and this will lead to a second round of coastal flooding and beach erosion.

4am to Noon on Sunday - Wind and rain starts to taper from South to the North. A few leftover rain showers through 10am and skies will start to clear into the afternoon.

OF COURSE!

What time is your party Jess?

7:30-11:30

Take a deep breath....this is not your wedding day (and if it was you'd make it work), this is something you will be laughing about next week, this will be a wonderful anecdote that you will share on your gorgeous wedding day. You are not in a tent in the middle of a field, you are in a building on the water. Just think of the awesome waves you will see! I'm sure you'll get some awesome pics. It will be ok sweetie.

Awwww, thanks sweetie! Got tired of being around negative people in my teens and 20's that took advantage me etc etc. Felt if I was always positive and supportive then I'd bring positive and supportive people into my life. It worked! It's how I roped in FH

and this is why i love you, not just because you are my date twin.

i read this as i was unwrapping the candles for the centerpieces going 'well its not like it was going to be sunny at night anyway. besides, the candles will look nice and will be helpful if we lose power.' i'm really trying to stay positive or else i'm just going to curl up into a ball in the corner and lose it

sexy sexy dinner by candlelight?!? LOVE IT! See, you gotta think positive. You can drive yourself crazy if you harp on all the negatives. Nothing is ever perfect, as much as we try to make it so. Tomorrow night make a game out of the lightening....couples have to kiss every time the sky flashes, or make it into a drinking game! Use the storm to make the party even better.

Re: Hanna info......

I have been watching this all week since this is openning weekend for soccer. I think this might be a little worse then they are forecasting it. It was going slow and wasn't gaining strength but it hit a current of warm water and took off. This should be a cat 1 Hurriance by the time eye hits NC. It will go back down to Tropical storm but if the eye hits warm water again, we could be looking at a Hurriance. If it hits cold water it should stay at Tropical storm but it might slow down and we can get hit really hard.

I am not a weather man but I have been watching the maps for a few years due to working on fields.

Good luck to everyone this weekend and stay dry!!

Hope no one is having their wedding tomorrow with this nasty weather coming.

I mean what would happen if the weather was so bad that no one could make it to the RH??

My mom had 14 inches of snow the day of her Fox Hollow Inn dream wedding 25 years ago. Half her guest list didn't come and my uncles had their suits in a cleaners that didn't open due to the weather. They wore orange bell bottoms. She still wants me to get married in Feburary to save money! I know global warming but still....
