After relunctly agreeing to take FH's last name he AGREED to let me hyphenate. He has been calling me Dee P... the last couple of days and its been getting me really upset and its not for any realtionship reason. My parents have both passed away in the last couple of years and the thought of giving up the name they had given me has really been bothering me. He finally understood that I want to take his last name but I want to keep my own as well. This is a GIANT weight off my shoulders and even though my family thinks its dumb to me its really important. So now I'm soooooo happy and relieved and I can go back to happy planning mode.

That's great that he understood where you were coming from. I think it is tough to give up a name you had your entire life!

That is GREAT! I am glad he understands!!! It's a very important thing to me as well, and luckily FH has absolutely no issues with me keeping my name.
