We were considering having our wedding there. The person who showed us the place was awesome...agreed to throw in a lot of extras. We loved the ceremony location outside on the 2nd floor and the picture area is really nice. Liked how you could see the boats from the reception room. We have a bunch of smokers in the crowd and liked the easy accessiblity to the outside area. We only went with Giorgios because I fell in love with it and we hadn't heard enough good or bad about the Harbor Club. Hopefully someone else has been there and can give you a better idea!

I had attended a suprise birthday there. It was last year in May. They had a buffet dinner and the food was very good. The party was upstairs and we got to sit outside overlooking the water. I personally think it's a nice place for a smaller wedding.

I also looked here when looking at reception halls. IMO the view was beautiful but for the price they were asking, you could get a better deal elsewhere. Also, needed some updating as compared to other sites. JMO

Re: HARBOR CLUB OPINIONS PLEASE

im getting married there in May - and LOVE the place - i think it is elegant and the view that you can see from both the cocktail and reception rooms is beautiful. i love the fact that there is only one wedding at a time as well - im not sure specifically what you need to know - but if you have any other questions feel free to ask away.

since i have been booked there (almost two years) there has been a ton of renovations beng made - repaved fixed parking lot, new carpet throughout - new bridal suite and they were also renovating the outside.

i so far have had nothing but a wonderful experience with it and found the price to be very reasonable -
sure you can find a 'better deal for the price' - but i wanted to get married someplace different - not one of those halls where EVERYONE gets married at and not a hall where you saved some money and have two or three weddings going on at the same time

Re: HARBOR CLUB OPINIONS PLEASE

well, everyone is entitled to their own opinions about halls - and i happened to find the place that i love - even if it doesnt happen to be the same halls that many other people on these boards get married at -

we are not having a band - but a dj - and i got my dress at bridal reflections in massapequa

I just noticed that this question is on The Brides Review - if you have more questions - you will probably get more answers if you post your question on the Brides Helping Brides Forum

Good Luck and let me know if you have any other questions

I'm having my wedding at the Harbor Club April 2006. We are having a smaller wedding, 125 tops.
I originally looked at the Garden City Hotel also and the attitude there- was I should be happy they are letting me having a wedding there.
I'm having a day wedding. I think the view from the Harbor Club is beautiful. You can see if from both the cocktail room and the reception room.
I worked with Scott, he is so nice and very accomdating.
I'm really happy with my decision to have it there.

Re: HARBOR CLUB OPINIONS PLEASE

I had a wedding there two years ago and it was great. I was in the bridal party so I had good treatment. I cocktail hour was supposed to be outdoors and it was not raining but misty so we had to stay in so the hair would not be ruined. Even in the light mist it was a great place.
The food was excellent. We did not have a choice of what to get. The plate came with it all on there. The dinner plate had the meat, chicken, and fish. You could double up on one or the other if you did not like something.
I really liked it and if you are in love with the place do it! It will be great. Good Luck!

Re: HARBOR CLUB OPINIONS PLEASE

I'm not sure if i heard this about harbor club or thatched cottage but one thing to think about is if your party takes place during low tide not only will the scenary be dissapointing but it may smell as well.... again I forget the location but if looking anywhere near the water an important aspect to check out is what will the place look like during low tide.... hope this helps!
