Harrison House at Glen Cove

Does anyone know what is the price range for the Harrison House at Glen Cove? And does anyone know how's the food and service there?

Thanks for any info

I think it started at $130-140 pp. but I could be wrong. I just remember it was out of our budget.

We went to see it, the grounds were BEAUTIFUL, but the room that would accomodare the amount of people we had was actually two rooms turned itno one, and I didn't like that.

But again the outside is just gorgous, if I wasn't doing Westbury Gardens I would want to take pictures there. HTH

I looked at it for a Saturday in December. The price was $175 per person. It is beautiful, but they really werent' willing to work with me in regards to my vision for my wedding. They kept trying to talk me out of things that I wanted.

I believe they started at $140 for a Friday night, then $175 for a Saturday night. Beautiful place, but the man we met with could not be bothered with us. I didn't get a great vibe from him.

When I looked in 04 for a Sat night/Sunday twilight with all the extras it was 189/pp. If I wanted off season (winter) or a summer friday night with no frills they quoted 125 pp.

I looked at it for a Saturday in June/July and it started at $185pp plus tax and gratuity with a 200 person minimum. I wasn't a huge fan of the fact that the CH would be separated in a couple of different rooms if the weather wasn't great (and it couldn't be held out by the pool).

My parents went to a wedding there in April, and they were a little disappointed (since they knew how much we were quoted, they were really excited for the wedding). My dad said that they served drinks out of plastic cups during the CH which he (and my dad is sooo not picky) thought was tacky. He also didn't think there were enough passed hors d'ouerves and said that he flet like everyone was chasing the waiters down for food.

Of course, there's no way I could've afforded that place, so maybe I'm just bitter

You just have to be creative. The girls on here have some great ideas for different things. If you mix and match, your wedding will be unique.

I really and truly wanted a mansion. I visited every single one on LI. I even priced out Thursday evenings, and Monday afternoon holidays. No matter what I did, I just couldn't bring it in at a price I could afford, and I didn't want to change my date to wait an extra year to afford it. Then I found East Wind. Is it a mansion? No. Is it gorgeous? Yes. Does it offer everything I could possibly want? Yes. Can I afford it? Yes!!! I am so happy with my decision. To get my 'mansion' feel, I am having my ceremony at a house that was built in the early 1800's (owned by a friend). So I now have the best of both worlds - my 'mansion' and IMHO, one of the prettiest receptions spots on LI. For 'unique' my ceremony guests (that choose not to walk the 2/10 mi - about 6 houses) are being transported to and from the parking area by limousine.

Just so you know, Harrison House has a 'B' menu that is cheaper if you ask to see it.

I've heard great things about them. They have a minimum of 200 people and I was quoted 150/person for Saturday night. It was out of our budget though.

Do you know what is the approximate price for Menu B....I honestly don't want to go see places that I can potentially fall in love with and then can't afford. Which has been happening to me

I know it's an expensive place to have a wedding, but I have to say as a guest it was the best wedding I've ever been to. Unbelievable! Food, service, grounds, CH, everything. The fact that you can have an after party upstairs at the pub is great too!

First of all, since I'm having my reception there, I would highly recommend it. Just went for my tasting last week and my FH are picky, picky, picky eaters but it was delicious. What I would suggest is for you to call Carmella Marrone and deal with her directly. She will be honest with you in regards to when might be cheaper, etc. etc. And as for the cost, it really depends on your day/night, month, etc.

Edited to say: PS- as for the bathrooms, the one right across from the reception is the handicap accessible one. The rest are right down the hall

I'm sorry, I don't remember anything except that it was still too much for me...and that it was on regular paper-they didn't waste the nice stuff for it.

I went to a wedding there last year (Oct. 04). I don't know what they paid.

The food and service were great (there were no plastic cups as someone mentioned above). However, they set the table we were at for 2 fewer seats then they should have. They fixed it right away, but we had to stand and wait while they did it.

The wedding was great and the place is beautiful, though!

Re: Harrison House at Glen Cove

I went to see the harrison house this summer. He was negotiable with the menu and will customize it but even customizing a brunch I was quoted for like $130 pp. Also I was looking for next summer and they had like every weekend available, which made me kind of feel like they weren't that wanted. When we went to the place, we LOVED the outside. LOVED IT! If you could be guaranteed a nice day it is perfect. The inside is also nice for the winter but I did not like the inside of the place for the summer. The carpet is RED and there is this ENORMOUS gold chandelier and the chairs are all RED. It was just too much for the summer I thought.

Well good luck with the reception hall hunt. Why don't you post your range on this site and people will reply with suggestions. Just describe what you like... everyone is so helpful on here!
